Job Description
My Client are now recruiting for a Subject Matter Expert. The role is required to work with a development team in producing rolling stock models for a Railway simulation game. We are looking for a unique individual who can take responsibility for and set up the simulation data for Rail Simulator. The individual will need to understand / learn the real world behaviour of locomotives and other rolling stock and be able to work with the team in translating those into parameters within the simulation.
You must have experience of how train engines (steam, diesel and electric) work and ideally how they feel in terms of previous train driving experience on at least one of the engine types. You will be required to identify the data, input that into our simulation system and then test the driving experience. You must be able to tweak the data until the driving experience feels correct and have the ability to feed back on the simulation system so changes can be made if required. A candidate needs to be able to understand game mechanics and the way in which parameters interact within models. Knowledge of UK and/or German rail operating procedures would be a significant advantage, as would knowledge of existing Railway simulation products. Experience of trains in particular engines or driving, as a hobbyist is acceptable Technically minded
