Job Description

Job Title: Technical Sales
Position: Full Time
Reports to: Managing Director

Summary

This is a unique opportunity for a hard-working individual with passion and drive to join a fast growing company involved in supporting the emergency services and the private sector in the safe and responsible management and response to incidents involving hazardous materials or CBRN terrorist events.

We aim to be a leading company in providing innovative solutions and integration in the hazardous materials management and emergency response markets. We assist clients in major hazardous industries and commercial sectors to better manage their hazardous materials and to better prepare to deal with incidents involving hazardous materials.

HazmatLINK also works with the emergency services and governments, providing products, training and consultancy on planning and managing incidents involving hazardous materials whether they are as a result of an accident or a deliberate release. We are actively involved in finding and developing innovative solutions to assist responders in dealing with the increasingly challenging environment facing them. This role will be based in Wallingford, Oxfordshire but will involve some travel mainly within the UK but also on occasion overseas. More information on the company can be found on our website.


The Role

The position will be responsible for developing, managing and closing profitable national/international business in both the private and public sector Individual will create sales and business development approach in conjunction with the Managing Director. Individual will have to create and foster relationships with key corporate decision-makers including preparing & presenting sales presentations, developing pricing strategies negotiating sales & managing customer relationships.

This position requires seasoned business, technical consultative and account penetration skills in order to succeed in market segments requiring account and sales development. This role will involve significant strategic planning and business development expertise. Individual will need to have a thorough understanding of market trends and competitive positions. This will included the identification and development of new business opportunities. The position requires significant customer interface, but also regular discussions with our suppliers.






Other

• Estimated – 40 to 50% travel
• Compensation: Base salary and benefits coupled with a highly competitive commission plan



Qualifications/Skills Required
Requirements

• Knowledge of chemistry and/or CBRN;
• Proactive and entrepreneurial;
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
• Able to influence senior management on issues relating to sales, products, business, or strategy;
• Able to interact at all levels with other decision makers/gatekeepers within an organization;
• Good team player – able to enroll others;
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook;
• Able to relate eloquently, intelligently and with conviction;
• Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with “can do” approach to problem solving;
• Ability to listen to an executive's business problems and translate back into possible sales/solutions – translate back to product management or development;
• Excellent ability to focus on core issues – developing and implementing appropriate actionable programs as required;
• Excellent sales development skills for the introduction of new products, services and concepts;
• Additional foreign languages advantageous, especially Dutch and/or French;
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
