So £131.50 x 28,000,000 = £3,682,000,000 (7 Billion US dollars!) a year.
OK so not all of it goes to the BBC, but most TV companies in the world would kill to get even half of that. And the BBC say it's not enough... :roll:

RICOH launches the worlds first 16x DVD+R Double Layer blank disc
As anyone succeeded in burning a Ricoh DVD+DL?
I had good luck with some a couple years ago and a Plextor 716A, but they were cheaper than Verbs then, now they aren't. Nor are they in the same league, but if they were to be found cheap again, i would pick up some more (Fuji used to use them, now they use complete garbage RITEK dye).

As best I can gather, the person who uploaded the file gets points towards premium services evertime a public user downloads a file. Don't really see what the problem is, only way it would be a bad thing is if the author has also uploaded the file and isn't getting any points.
