Royal Caribean press release - brand new cruise line launch
Hey!!!
So who else has heard the Royal Caribbean cruise line news? Anyone as excited as me ? I received an email last week saying they launch two new ships, to add to the freedom class of ships. One of which independence of the seas will be launching from our very own Southampton in May 2008. May seem a little far away to be making plans now but cabins can be booked from the 14th of this month! Just imagine a brand new cruise ship, with ice rink, rock climbing, boxing ring, inline skating and onboard surfing! I can hardly wait! Hopefully see some of you on board the independence of the sea soon! Woohoo!
Theres a press big press release on there site under news go check it out, let me know what u think.
:D.

whats the best cruise to go on?
I reckon that the Cunard Queen Mary 2 has got to be the ultimate luxury liner. It's the longest, widest, tallest, largest passenger ship ever built. It has 15 restaurants and bars, five swimming pools, a casino, a ballroom, a theatre, and a planetarium (I got this from Wikipedia, haven't been on a cruise yet, though it's on my list of 10 things to do before you die..)
They're always having promotions of one type or another. I've seen one for a transtalantic cruise which lets you sail one way New York/Southampton on the QM2 and the other by Silverjet, which is a new luxury airline that's all business class.
Personally I think the best way round would be to do the sailing part TO New York. That way you enjoy the classic arrival in New York harbour....

luxury cruise
has anyone been on a real luxury cruise? The kind that has about 500 people with lots of room to spread out, high-class service and cavier to eat? If so, where did you go and did you think it was worth the extra money?

Celebrity Cruises
It seems as though Celebrity Cruises have decided to buck the ever-growing trend for "mega-ships" with the launch of 2 "smaller" vessels, Journey and Quest: http://www.celebritycruises.co.uk/pages/news.php?newsid=15
So what do you cruising folk here think of this development? I personally think it's a great idea; huge ships have their plus points, certainly, and they can make for incredible holidays, but there's definitely something to be said for choice... and for a romantic honeymoon or quieter, more luxurious "get away from it all" holidays, these ships sound fabulous! A real treat, basically :).

First time to cruise
Can anyone tell me where I might find the best cruise deal and what I should expect on my first cruise. Things I should look out for or be aware of? This is my first cruise planning and though I am a bit nervous I want to make the best of it..

Which Luxury Cruise Would U Pick?
I haven't been on a cruise yet-my husband was on a ship in the Navy and says he won't go on another one. I have hopes of convincing him though.
I'd love to go on a wellness cruise. I read about some with world-famous yoga instructors, workshops, organic food, etc. I wouldn't even care where it was going!
I'd like to go for at least 7 days.

Sea sickness?
its also good to try and get a midship cabin if you get sea sick
most of all go to your doctor prior to the cruise and get medicine
most of the time you dont even know you are on a ship so unless he has a very bad case of this if you do everything you can prior to taking the cruise he should be alright
i hope you get to go.

Cruise Travel in China
There are few cruise travel lines of sea in China, howerer we have some of Yangtze River (or called :Changjiang River) with the cruise named East King and East Queen, Victoria Cruises (top class).
The mighty Yangtze River and its Three Gorges has long been one of Asia's most revered and dramatic nature attractions. Yangtze River Cruise sailing across the natural wonder Three Gorges will be a fabulous trip.It is relaxing, interesting, and slow paced. You can take part in various activities onboard and learn about Chinese culture. Most of the cruises provide Chinese culture presentation, staff show, and very nice food with Chinese cuisine..

Tokyo Cruises
Has anyone taken any cruise tours in Tokyo? I've been looking at some in Tokyo Bay. There are some dining cruises that allow you to see the sights while enjoying a nice dinner. Some of the longer ones will take you to other areas of Japan.
If anyone has been on a cruise like this, what did you think of it? Is a longer cruise worth the time and expense, or would a shorter tour be just as good?.
