Best place for river rafting?
If you are based in Europe, the best places are Turkey, Morocco, and a bit more of a trip but still pretty easy to get to the Zambesi..

Is this adventure travel?
For the purists, adventure travel is almost extinct as there are very few activities and loctions which have not been well trodden. There may be a few exceptions such as free diving under the polar ice caps, submarine trips to the san andreas trench or space travel. Otherwise, whatever we do is likely to have been done before not so long ago.
However, personally I believe adventure travel is a relative/personal term. Going on a white water rafting tour to some would be tame, but if your facing up to a life long fear of water then it's pretty adventurous. Similarly, I went on a trip to the alps a year ago and did a mixture of rock climbing, glacier walking, mountaineering and peak ascent. For me this was adventurous as an inexperienced mountaineer and an experience I will remember for ever. For our guides it was another day's work and instantly forgettable!
Sometimes there are competitive intonations to adventure travel - it has to be the most extreme or the most remote but this is not, I believe, the most fulfilling purpose.

Rock Climbing
I have climbed in the UK and the Alps but not in the US yet. We don't have anything to compare with the big walls you have in Yosemite and am sufficiently realistic about my abilities to know I will never get round to El Capetain! that looks ridiclously scarely but apparently son of ozzy osmond guy did it?.

Have you done SKYDIVING?
If you are based in the UK, I think the best place to go is Spain. The weather is pretty reliable so you won't be grounded and it is cheap. I used an english guy who operates and teaches near seville who is very good..

Running of the Nudes , Pamplona Spain
100s of naked revellers wearing little more than plastic bull horns, red bandanas and running shoes dancing, running, singing through the streets of Pamplona?!?!
It's called the Running of the Nudes and it takes place on July 5th at 1pm - it was designed as a cruelty-free alternative to the Running of the Bulls and the cruel bullfights that follow at the Festival of San Fermin.

Kunlun (Kurum) and Muztagh-Ata mountains
Muztagh-Ata(7546)is the first and third highest peaks at its Pamir plateau. Not far fromthe Kongur peak is the Kongur sister peak 7595 meters from sea level. Among these peaks, Muztagh-Ata become very attractive since it has been approached by Chinese USSR expedition in July 31th,1956.
Muztagh-Ata means Father of Ice Mountains in Uyghur language. The late may to early September are the best time to make the summit. The ascent to make the summit needs from 15 to 20 days depending on the professional level of climbers but Kongur and its sister peaks takes 30 to 35 days to do the summit.[b:b14a0907fa][/b:b14a0907fa].

Adventure is doing something interesting that you haven`t done before,visiting a foreign country or even a place in your own country,it doesn`t depend on the location if you have a great time !.

Best Adventure in My Opinion
Can someone tell me why you people find scuba diving interesting ? I`ve never tried it because I don`t think it`s interesting. I`m waiting for your opinions and maybe I`ll change my mind and I`ll give it a try :).

I have to say, I was amazed to see a 4-wheel drive parked up at Angkor Wat in Cambodia with Swiss plates... :shock: .... so it's possible to do.
(One other thing: I think Myanmar is very difficult to travel through, and I'm sure I have read that border crossings are almost all closed.... :? Certainly, almost all Europe-to-Asia overland blogs that I have read avoid Myanmar).

Tree climbing
Hi,
We run tree climbing courses on the Isle of Wight, you wear gear similar to rock climbing, but it's not really the same.
The way we teach it you also have a foot loop to help you climb up using your leg muscles - saving on the arms and upper body. I can do it and I certainly don't have any upper body strength!!
There are other people in the UK who also teach tree climbing - come and have a go!
