Purchasing Professional
Swouth West, Wiltshire, Swindon
Salary guideline rate £24-34,000


We are a recruitment agency and our client is looking for a Purchasing Professional to work within this engineering company. The ideal candidate will have the experience and ability to estimate parts costs from drawings and have a good understanding of engineering practices. Key Role & Responsibilties:
General day to day purchasing function with interaction between supplier and customer.
Obtaining quotations/Negotiation/Placing orders(using Smartstream system, full training given)
Working from/with parts lists and drawings/design
Resolving queries from both Engineers and Suppliers
Resolving invoice exceptions
Developing and implementing improvement plans

JOB REQUIIREMENTS:
Ideally looking for a machinist or toolmaker looking for a change of direction. Minimum requirement is an ability to estimate parts cost from drawings and an understanding of engineering practice.
Some previous experience in an active Purchasing role would be desirable.
Or experience within a similarly system and paperwork driven environment, which required good organisational skills.
PC literacy with Microsoft packages.
Good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise own workload as business requirements change.
Problem solving skills.
Ability to work under own initiative.
Cost control/negotiations/analysis.
Can re-act, dependant upon the urgency of each request and re-prioritise accordingly.
Good teamworker and the ability to communicate all issues freely within a small team
Must be Proactive, Assertive, Open to and responsive to change and able to work effectively under pressure.
Must be FLEXIBLE. Hours can be up to 11 per day and some weekends overtime paid.
Work requirements may vary and he/she may be required to support in other areas.
Must be able to work at basic level with parts lists and drawings but also be striving for constant improvement within the section.
