The key skills required are:- CIPS Qualified and experience of working within a manufacturing engineering environment. Key Role & Responsibilities Achieve Annual Cost Reduction requirements through effective supplier management and cost strategy deployment Accurate & timely Quotation management for on time Budget completion and control Develop, gain approval and execute raw material purchasing strategies including market research and benchmarking Procurement of companywide general consumables Company responsibility for facility/equipment investment with companywide departments (including investment committee approval) Established & participate in Honda Europe synergy activities for general consumables and service contracts Financial assessment of supplier including risk analysis Qualifications Degree, HND, or equivalent, in a Commercial related subject Degree, HND, or equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent manufacturing/engineering Experience Demonstrable experience in OEM /Tier 1 supplier as a Buyer in the Purchasing Cost area Demonstrable experience in High Volume manufacturing Environment as a Buyer in the Purchasing Cost area Demonstrable experience as a Buyer in any industry Cost are preferred Proven experience in a commercial role Additional Requirements Negotiation and benchmarking skills / ability to analyse costs in detail Self management to deadlines / ability to prioritise Logical thought process Self management / key purchasing criteria understood and applied Good computer skills Good communication skills (written and verbal) /professional representation Understand the importance of the market, what to look for Market condition, what are the potential changes /influences / causes Mathematical analysis skills, understanding of exchange rate impact Ability to work in a team, experience of doing so Understand Basic Contract Formation Supplier management skills Strategic thought Company accounts & finance knowledge Understanding of the key steps in Project Management Experience of leading projects If this role is not for you, please visit our website colbernlimited co uk for more opportunities Qualifications/Skills Required CIPS Purchasing Procurement Byuyer Contact information Bernie Gough (Procurement/Purchasing Professional) 01707323444 01707 377866   Please note: Applications will not be considered from those candidates who are not entitled to work within the UK or the country of the advertised vacancy.
