New Model Supplier Development
Swindon, Wiltshire, South West
Salary guideline range £28-38,000 depending on experience and performance related bonuses
We are a specialist recruitment agency and we are currently resourcing for a number of roles for this Swindon based client - this particular role is within their Model supplier development department and the duties and requirements of the successful candidate will be:-
Working within the main supplier development dvision.
The main focusd is ensuring level one suppliers achieve the quality and delivery requirement.
Technical Purchasing fulfill one of the main proactive mass production functions of the New Model Supplier Development department. Technical Purchasing ensure a coordinated approach whilst working closely with suppliers and other Purchasing departments to achieve the company's objectives.
Key Role & Responsibilities
Technical purchasing are responsible for ensuring this is achieved through the application of lean manufacturing tools
and techniques using specific measures for supplier performance.
An outward facing function, the successful candidate will be required to spend the majority of their time off site, coordinating activity within suppliers. Combined with significant Engineering and/or process management experience, a data driven approach will be required in order for the individual to be effective in the role.
Person Specification
· HNC or equivalent in an engineering discipline would be advantageous
· Previous supervisory/management would be beneficial
· Demonstrable experience of lean manufacturing application within a high volume industry
· Proven ability to identify and achieve capacity improvements would be advantageous
· Experience in project management would be advantageous
· Excellent presentation skills
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
· Demonstrable ability to investigate, analyse and problem solve with the implementation of appropriate countermeasures
· Efficient analytical and logical approach
· Flexible approach to job responsibilities
· Computer skills proficiency in Microsoft Office
· Self motivated and the ability to work unsupervised
· UK driving license
