Job Description

Our client is one of the most successful international suppliers of high-quality sportswear in the functional and fashion segment. Its European Retail Team is growing and requires professional support. We therefore are seeking to appoint a

Merchandise Planning Manager – Sport Stores m/f

to commence work as soon as possible at an operational location in southern Germany.

The focus of this role is the optimisation of merchandise planning by means of area-based planning and the marketable structuring of products for the freestanding stores in Europe.

Your main responsibilities include planning product ranges for European sport concept stores with regard to the weighting of the individual categories and volumes of the goods. You will perform detailed three-dimensional quantity diversification of the merchandise product groups, articles, colours, and sizes. You are also responsible for the regulation of the pricing structure for the sales areas and you will determine the delivery cycles for the various collection subgroups. Your seasonal planning will take account of the previous year’s data in regard to the set targets, including significant figures such as turnover, margins, inventory and profit. Your scheduling of merchandise will factor in market developments and trends. This activity entails very close cooperation with colleagues from the Merchandising Team together with the Product and Retail Management departments.


Qualifications/Skills Required
You have already acquired experience in quantitative and qualitative merchandise planning for the retail business in the textile, shoe and/or consumer goods branches, preferably for several or more retail stores and with large volume operations. You have completed a certificated commercial training program or have a business-related university degree or your can demonstrate a suitably appropriate career development to date.

You are an analytical problem solver who takes a practical approach maintaining an overview of all relevant details while constantly focusing on the your ultimate goals. Together with a sound business sense, your strengths include outstanding teamwork qualities and the aptitude to assume a proactive role in an international and intercultural working environment. You have passion, ambition and flair and you can swiftly assimilate and understand facts enabling you to make decisions confidently. Your powers of persuasion and communication, the ability to rigorously perform your tasks and your excellent social skill complete your personal profile.

You are fluent in both English and, preferably, other languages. (German language knowledge is not required.) You are very familiar in working with computer-based resources and merchandise planning systems.
