Managing Consultant - Government & Public Sector
Slough, Berkshire
Permanent
£40-60,000 depending on experience
Colbern Limited is a specialist recruitment agency and is pleased to advise of an exciting opportunity within one of our prestigious clients based in Berkshire. Suitable candidates must have experience within the Oil and Gas industry.
Our client is a multi-disciplinary consultancy and are looking to grow their Government and Public Service consultancy. As part of this growth, they are seeking an experienced Managing Consultant to provide expertise and drive in both business development and delivery. The role will involve:
Business development - to identify and exploit opportunities to sell our consultancy services.
Evidence-based strategy and policy development - including risk profiling, socioeconomic profiling and option appraisal to provide an understanding of the costs and benefits of the proposed options.
Stakeholder consultation - to collect information via workshops, interviews questionnaires and e-
consultation.
Evaluation - of programmes, interventions and regulations.
Our client envisages that the right candidate would expand the role, and they would welcome people who are able to expand our service provision into new areas.
Candidates would ideally, have the following skills and attributes:
Sound research and consultancy experience - gained in providing consultancy services to government and public sector clients.
Business development skills - with the ability to identify and address clients' needs.
Economic and evaluation skills - with the ability to identify and quantify both tangible and intangible costs and benefits.
Qualitative and Quantitative data analysis and interpretation skills - coupled with the ability and
confidence to solve problems and make informed, sound decisions and recommendations.
Qualified - with a degree-level qualification and, preferably, a professional qualification.
Excellent oral and written communication skills - to deliver high quality reports and proposals.
Strong teamwork skills - to develop productive relationships with clients and colleagues.
Motivated, committed and results orientated - with a desire to achieve results and reach targets.
Innovative and creative problem solver - to come up with imaginative solutions and alternative
approaches.
Computer literate - with a good knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Proven project management skills - including planning, budget management and organising.
Commercial / financial awareness - aware of the cost implications of decisions and actions.
