Southport: Part 2..Why this pervasive dark mutterings of hopelessness of a future black Prime Minister in Britain?
Greg Dyke, a scion of the true Brit, an incorrigible Establishment hand and former honcho of BBC once indicted the world famous broadcasting station of being hideously white. Dyke forgot to mention also that the corporation had gone Asian. In the BBC, blacks are invisible as newsreaders and presenters. They are unwanted as producers, reporters and editors of news. But blacks are in the backroom as cooks in the canteen, cleaners and delivery ‘boys’. Few miles from BBC’s White City’s head office is the House of Commons. If BBC is hideously white, the British parliament is obscenely more so and shamelessly racist and patriarchal. British parliament is a treacherous, white dominated encl... 01 Dec 08, 05:12:51
Southport: How do I kick my brothers out of my house legally in New York?
Hello, I have a question that I can’t find a clear answer anywhere. The before part of this story is long and a mess. A couple of years ago, I purchased a house and I used to live together with my mom and my two brothers. My mom has since moved to another state but still helps me out. I don’t get along with my brothers infact they both stress me out to no end and do not, I repeat do no contribute at all. They also have no respect for me whatsoever. One of my brothers 25 y.o has been out of work for 8 months and is a felon who won't even take a part time job doing something mindless to have some cash in his pocket.
My other brother 24, y.o is doing an internship in another s... 01 Dec 08, 05:12:08
Southport: job application honesty can cost you the job?
Not too long ago i was terminated from my job as a stock associate at Lowes. Unfortuantely they always seem to terminate people just prior to the holiday season (alot of people were let go in one month including myself. Not laid off. Terminated.).
I was planning on moving up to another town about an hour away, except i was going to wait until after christmas to quit. Sadly, that was not the case. I was terminated for attendance issues and actually i was supposed to get one final write up before being terminated but i guess the store manager had other plans.
In any case it was not so much my tardiness and i never had a no show . But i was frequently back late from breaks... 01 Dec 08, 04:12:50

Southport: Are you in favour of positive discrimination for men?
Are you aware that the new UK equalities bill will allow affirmative action for men?
The law will also allow positive discrimination in favour of men if the circumstances call for it. For example, a school which employs mainly women teachers may be able to discriminate in favour of a man to redress the balance.
Also, since this law applies equally to both men and women, why is it that some posters are only focusing on the fact it allows for positive discrimination for women - is it only unfair when women are getting more jobs, and not when men are?
What are your thoughts? :-)

Southport: Moving to Anchorage, Alaska in January, I have some questions!?
I've been reading through the posts on here and most of them regarding moving to Alaska (Anchorage municipality) have been very informative and helpful, but I just have a few questions that are more specific to my situation.
1. We are leaving in January, and the car my roommate has now is in no way fit to drive around in Alaska (regardless of how often they clear the snow). We will be flying into Anchorage and hope to find an INEXPENSIVE but moderately safe vehicle, that will last at least for temporary inner-city use only while job hunting and exploring the town. Any recommendations for used car places (or types) besides Craigslist? (which we do plan on utilizing). Also, how much d... 01 Dec 08, 12:12:02
Southport: UK Law on Redundancy - Urgent advice needed?
My fiance and I were both made redundant on Friday. We both worked in the same pub (he worked full-time and I worked 20 hours alongside my regular full-time office job). I'm not out for anything myself, as I can just about scrape through on my remaining salary, but two thirds of our money came from the pub, so you can imagine we're really in trouble.
My fiance isn't going to receive any payment for the last week he worked (around £400), and was not given ANY notice of his redundancy. He has worked there for seven years, but we moved abroad for a year in 2004, when we didn't work there. He went back to work there in 2005, so he's been working there continuously s... 01 Dec 08, 12:12:31
