Southport: Is getting a masters degree really worth it.....already the loans are killing us?
okay so my husband has a Masters in Communications and can't even get in the field....right now he is doing an entry level Data entry job that barely covers rent because he can't get his foot in the door anywhere.....He has a freaking masters degree....where people with less education than him are doing a lot better than us. I don't get it and now loans are due and that is another 300 a month we don't have..... Really how does a masters degree help you....I would love to know. Everyone says its worth it but there are no jobs. How can a school offer a program when there are limited jobs in the area for that degree. Sorry for the rant but I don't get ho...

What do you all think I have a girl in my night class that has been looking for a roommate its just her and her son she has a three bed room. Instead of going to a shelter do you think it would be fine to do that? MOve in as her roommate I have called her and she is still looking I just don't wanna quite school and work my job pays very good and im done with school in April...

Southport: Anyone have any experience in the Army National Guard?
I'm 35 with a large background and education in IT/Computer Science. Of course, like many others I'm completely screwed in this economy. I haven't been able to find a job in my field in years and my business is really slow. I've run across a few postings going back to the National Guards. I don't have any military experience. I'm in OK shape and workout fairly regular but am about 30 lbs. overweight. Can I even get in the Guard, and if I can what all would be involved? What kind of hours and pay? i am torn. i movedd out of my moms house, where i have been raised with GSD's. i miss it. i get to see Bujak only once a month. i want one of my own very badly. where i live now, i have 5 acres, a nice house and a barn. the two problems i have is i am a sophomore in high school and im not sure if i can or should bring the dog to college with me, my dad will not care for it wen i leave. and i have a part time job, school, and volleyball all year round. i have little time, but enough i believe to contribute to caring for a dog. should i wait till summer so i can train it w/o too many other things going on? please help!...

the other night when he stopped over at mine he came out with my mums going to buy her house soon so im going to move in with her and get a full time job and help her towards the morgage i just said ok - but i was abit hurt - i know its only been 6 months but i did hope that one day in the future he would want to be together properly with me! and now hes said this. i have a house - not my own. i did wish that one day we could live together but now it seems he doesnt feel the same....!! what do i do...? i dont really want to bring the subject up yet - coz it might scare him off but i dont feel it would work in the long run if we are together but knowing we will not live together ...

Apparently, it's a job. If you work - you're a selfish, terrible mother with spoiled, stupid, bratty children that you don't care about. BUT if you are a stay-at-home mom who smokes cigarrettes, watches Oprah, yells at your kids, and trolls on Yahoo you are a GREAT mom, by the pure virtue that you don't work. So, I'm just wondering how working and parenting skills are related? Do some jobs make worse moms than others?...
