Southport: Tisch School of Arts?
I'm planning to apply to the Tisch School of Arts at NYU to study film. I'm aware the school if pretty competitive so I was wondering what I would need to have a good chance at acceptance. I don't have any extra curriculars, how much of a hindrance is that? No job experience either but I am doing some community service soon. It's an art school so I don't know how much this figures into it but my GPA is 3.6 and SAT is 1240.... 23 Nov 08, 03:11:01
Southport: Can you tell me what you think of my admissions essay (F.I.T.)?
Julia Kim
F.I.T. Admissions Essay
I am Julia Kim, a small pigment of talent. I was born within a family line of artists consisting of a fashion designer, abstract painter, graphic designer, and an interior designer. I had always been a creative person even back when I was in grade school. I was that little girl who would sit in class and just draw things here and there all day long, and get in trouble for it. I was the girl who looked forward to school projects which involved making a model of something, or creating a poster, or carving pumpkins, or making a diorama of dinosaurs. I don’t remember the last time I ever bought a birthday card because I was always happy to make my ow... 22 Nov 08, 11:11:49

Southport: So Twilighters, what did you think of the movie?
Honestly I wasn't that impressed with it. I'm glad that they followed the basic story line but it just didn't pull me in like the books do. The special effects weren't good at all, Kristen Stewart kept fluttering her eyes and it looked silly, and I don't like the way they made Edward sparkle, he looked fuzzy to me. Don't get me wrong it was an okay film but, I just think that Paramount or Fox could have done a much better job. So what are your opinions?
I totally agree with the casting problems. Everyone is all saying that Robert Pattingson is so hot but, the only reason that they think that is because he was cast as Edward. NO ONE thought that he was good lo... 22 Nov 08, 08:11:23
Southport: Anyone who has seen Twilight?
did you like it? i was dissapointed.
BTW: do not answer this question if you haven't read the books.
so, let me just say that if i was not an avid fan of the books and had not read each of them at least 4 times, i would have LOVED the movie.
however, i am an avid fan and i have read each book at least 4 times.
i was dissapointed by the movie, which i expected. something as great as the books can never be translated onto film and be as spectacular (exception: lord of the rings).
i was sad that:

Southport: What should I do? I'm up all night crying and uptight and can't sleep because I'm upset?
I'm a 27 year old male from the Los Angels,CA area. The reason why I can't find work or keep a job is because a majority of the population thinks that I m Mentally Retarded and am incapable. This is why I get descriminated against.
How should I fight this? Sadly 95% of employers think that based on my appearance and tics that I'm Mentally Retarded and am incapable of doing a job.
When you tell an employer up front or before hand they automatically descriminate against you.
This is the reason on why I have no girlfriend or many other friends. I have trouble meeting people. People just don't want to give me a chance.
Back in June 2004 I got a BA from a Un... 20 Nov 08, 11:11:42
