Southend: Small infraction on my record and bad credit. Can I still be a CPA in Florida?
I owned my own construction business for several years, but when the economy started going under in Florida, Construction went first. So my credit score is bad. Right now, my FICO is 500. I'm in school getting an MBA with a concentration in accounting. This is enough hours to sit for the Florida CPA exam. Also, I have a small criminal record. I kicked a guys car because he ran me off the road. Turns out he was a lawyer. I got two years probation and with held adjudication. Since then, I have completed my BBA in econ with a 3.0 GPA. I have a 4.0 in my master's work. So, I have three questions... 1. Will the infraction and the bad credit stop me from getting my license? ...

The elevation difference observed is 13.634 m. a. (10 points). What is the corrected project elevation if the instrument has a sight line that declines at a rate of 0.3 mm per 50 m?...

Southend: My son wants to join the military. He is 21 has an 18 month old child. ?
He and the mother are not together and he has no court order providing for his rights. He thinks that joining the military is a good idea because the economy sucks (he can't keep a job) and the sign on bonuses get paid upfront. we have tried telling him that this isn't true (about the bonuses) and that he will be abandoning his child but he thinks he can come home every weekend to see her. We live in a state where the closest base is a 6 hour drive round trip. How do we convince him that he needs to get a lot more information before he even considers ditching all of his responsibilities. He tried going to college, but couldn't manage to make it to classes or do the work. ...

Southend: Do you think the government should bail out the BIG 3 Auto Makers?
From my own personal experiences I think they should NOT be bailed out. Who's bailing me out and giving me a new job? I got laid off in the construction industry recently and got behind on my truck payments, even part time night job wasn't enough to save my truck from being repossessed. I bought the truck for $25,000 for a six year loan put $10,000 down to make sure I'd pay it off sooner and have smaller payments, I had 2 years left to pay it off and was only 2 payments behind. General Motors/ Chevrolet repossessed my truck in the night and took it to a place 300 miles a way and sold it in one week for like $3,000 at an auto auction and didn't even try to work out a deal ...

Southend: How is multitasking used in management?
Usually when you start to work for a ie, construction company in contract admin; you are given 2-3 projects at a time to work on. Given that time and cost are the key targets, and if most junior contract administrators work on a death line to complete all projects using multitasking skills, why is it that there is always many vacancies available in that job category. Southend: USN Reserve to transfering into another branch?
I am a 2nd class in the Navy reserve and honestly miserable. I've completed 2 years of my contract and have another 4 years left. I joined the Navy to be a FMF corpsman active duty, they would not give me the job because there were no spots open for women, so they contracted me for intelligence in the reserves. However, MEPS wouldn't accept any of my vision waivers (the job requires 20/20 with perscription, I tested 20/25 at MEPS and they wouldn't accept my waivers stating that I see 20/15 with my perscription) so they contracted me for construction in the reserves since I would not go active duty for a job that I don't want to do every day for the next 4 years. Ini...
