Southampton: MBA with a Criminal Record?
Hi! I am a computer science major and am thinking of applying for an MBA to change careers and aim for the big bucks. I have pretty good scores/gpa etc and hence would probably get an admission. However, about 5 years back while I was a stupid guy recently out of college, I ended up getting charged for performing some lewd acts in public while partying with some of my drunken crazy pals during a weekend. This was a misdemeanor offense and the charge was subsequently sealed (not expunged) by the judge since this was my only brush with the law. Even though the record is sealed from private employers and companies, it would still be accessible by many government and licensing/regulatory agencie...

Southampton: what about this one fans is it true ?
Why Men Can Not Win If you work too hard, there is never any time for her. If you don't work enough, you're a good-for-nothing bum. If she has a boring repetitive job with low pay, it's exploitation. If you have a boring repetitive job with low pay, you should get off your butt and find something better. If you get a promotion ahead of her, it's favoritism. If she gets a job ahead of you, it's equal opportunity. If you mention how nice she looks, it's sexual harassment. If you keep quiet, it's male indifference. If you cry, you're a wimp. If you don't, you're insensitive. If you make a decision without co...

Southampton: How would you deal with this work situation?
*Warning: A little long* I'm having somewhat of a difficult time dealing with an out-of-line co-worker. The situation is: recently I've begun taking on more work, I just got promoted and thus my work load is now a little heavier, however I thoroughly enjoy the work I do, and I'm ambitious. That said, I know when too much is too much and I wouldn't hesitate to tell someone if I needed help. I just took on a few more clients, which I was rather excited about, and my co-worker, who is the same job grade I am, but who sometimes thinks she's my superior, came to me this morning and said I don't think you need these extra clients, you have too much on your pl...

I've been here six months and held a job here for four. Previous to that, I had a job for eight years in MO....

Southampton: Do banks and consulting firms place much focus on Yr12 Results?
I was wondering how much focus consulting/banking firms put on year 12 results after you graduate from uni and what mark they expect you to have had in year 12 when applying for these jobs. I mean, what happens if you come out with a degree with 1st class or 2nd class honors but didn't have 'Strong' high school marks? Will it be seriously still relevant 4-5years later? thanks Here is an example, im from Australia. http://www.joinbain.com/apply-to-bain/bain-on-your-campus/school_welcome.asp?school_id=279 U A Thank you for this website, however looking at one of the pages it requires 'top standardized test scores' as well. My name is Philippe and I work as a civil engineer in China, but I will probably move to Australia very soon for another job. Income in the construction field is pretty good and I believe I am leading a very comfortable and exciting life since I have started working in this industry. Southampton: HR People: U.S. work authorization question?
My OPT is currently pending and I'm looking for a job with consulting and research firms. Many of them ask if I am currently allowed to work. My answer is yes, since OPT has been approved and should be in soon. My question is: is that really what they wanna know? or do they really mean: do you have an H-1, in which case the answer is no, but if I say no, then I'm throwing my chances out the window? And according to what you know of the market and what your individual firm is doing, how good would you say my chances are of getting sponsored? I'm starting to get discouraged here, so I'd appreciate some inside information, good or bad. I just need to know....
