We abolish the welfare system and start over. If you want to be on welfare, you can only be on for a certain amount of years and must prove you are actively looking for employment. We can have people checking in on those who have welfare to make sure they don't lie on applications and aren't using their money on frivolous things. I used to work at a place where I saw people EVERYDAY abusing the welfare system and I am sick of it. We can save money by kicking a lot of people off of it that shouldn't be on it and we can create jobs by having those people who are on it or applying for it monitored.... 22 Nov 08, 10:11:36
Scarborough: Can a place of employment pull a job listing prior to the deadline to apply that was included ?

Scarborough: Flex Benifit Plan rules for the account and new employment?
With my current employer, I have the opportunity to enroll in a Flex Spending Account for 2009 with a 4000 max contribution or $153 every other week. A couple of qeustions.
Is the whole amount available after the first paycheck in 2009?

For k-12 teachers, do you need to eventually get a master's degree as a requirement to maintain employment?
In my state (Ohio) I think they are required to get their master's degree by their 12th year, otherwise they lose their job.

I am broke, single living at home with parents and I just want to make a good amount of money in the future, I am 19 with a construction diploma and I want to go to University and get a construction degree, but I know when I get the degree I am not even guaranteed a job, so how can I help to make sure I end up earning a decent amount of money and get into employment when I have gotten my degree, like what should I be doing besides my degree to give me added potential... 22 Nov 08, 02:11:20

I lost my job due to the economy and have been looking since before I lost my job. I have been on numerous interviews and even have been to ten employment agencies. I need to find help to catch up on my rent and I need some suggestions outside of Social Services. Can anyone give me any suggestions? Scarborough: How do I get my first Job on an oil rig?
I'm trying to get an entry level position on an oil rig. I'm currently located in Houston, TX I don't have any previous working experience, but I've completed a Pre-employment floorhand training program at a school accredited by the IADC.
My first choice would be on a Land rig, because the instructor said typically guys on land rigs move up the ranks faster than offshore because there is a higher employee turnaround rate.
Also I would like to stay in the us, and in TX

Scarborough: can your employer change your job NZ?
I am employed as a security officer by a building management team.
Recently they have been adding extra duties to my role. I am now acting as a receptionist for a serviced apartments run from the same site, responsible for balancing the till during my shift, taking reservations and checking in guests, valet parking etc. Im expected to make charges to credit cards etc. I have Absolutely no experience in this field.
Can your employer add on extra duties like that, without asking you if its okay?
Further more I've written a letter stating that im not confident with the new tasks, I've asked for training and received none.
