Scarborough: I need a job, any suggestions?
Let me give you some background info:
-I'm very studious and I'm in higher-level class (honors, AP)
-I do homework a lot, it occupies most of my time
-My mom doesn't want me to work in pizza shops or in any places where I face the customer (except waitressing as far as I know) because I will get shot in the face
-I need money badly, so I need it to start with good pay
-I'm 16 going on 17 as junior in high school
-I don't have my drivers permit or liscense
Behind where I live there is a Kmart, Burger King, Ruby Tuesdays, some computer store, Pathmark, and a bank. I'd like to get a job at one of these places so I don't have to walk/ride m...

Scarborough: Can teens have their own bank account without parents?
Ok i'm 16 years old and i have my first job. My mother is not a trustworthy person with money and informed me that her bank told her to take me in so they could put me on her account. I told her i wanted my own account and she said well you have to take me with you anyway. I just dont want her having access to my money because i know she would take it. So i need to know if i can have my own account without her having access to it or having to know anything about it to get into it....

Scarborough: ok.... Found out i was pregnant whilst training for new job!!!?
i was into a weeks training to be a health care assistant (on the bank) (which is staff who cover for maternity or sickness as and when needed) when i found out i was pregnant. told my main employer and she was fine with it. Went to the maternity ward and had an interview to be on the bank there too. this opportunity doesnt com up often as lots of people want to do this. The lady who set me up with the interview knows im pregnant but i dont think she informed the maternity staff. currently in jeopardy with the economy? It seems every sector of the economy (public and private) is being effected..
I work for a municipality and most people think our jobs are safe.
Our city managers have been trimming our budget/city services for two years, and now are in the process of eliminating staff .
We are losing our revenue with stores closing by the scores; less food and beverage tax and other sales tax income for the city; residents not able to pay their tax/utility bills. Many of the other municipalities in our area have laid off 5 to 40 workers.
Could you answer by naming your career and if you see your position being eliminated any time soon?
