Plymouth: What's better? Weapons Engineer for huge civilian company, or Development Engineer for Air Force?
I need to work on equipment for the military. I want to join the military and at least serve my time, and I already have the degree to do it, but I need to finish losing some weight and get in shape, no problem. However, what's better to join the Air Force and go for Developmental Engineer position (OTS) or just apply for a electronic engineering job in a local military company (BAE Systems)? Thanks for any feedback and opinions....

Plymouth: When our economy ultimately goes bust, will you be happy just to work in one of Obama's forced labor gulags?
Taken from an Obama speech: Today, AmeriCorps - our nation's network of local, state and national service programs - has 75,000 slots. I know firsthand the quality of these programs. My wife Michelle once left her job at a law firm to be the founding director of an AmeriCorps program in Chicago that trains young people for careers in public service. These programs invest Americans in their communities and their country. They tap America's greatest resource - our citizens. As President, I will expand AmeriCorps to 250,000 slots, and make that increased service a vehicle to meet national goals like providing health care and education, saving our planet and restoring our standing...

Plymouth: How can Congress possibly bail out the Big 3 Automakers when...?
How can the US Congress possibly vote billions of taxpayer dollars to bail out the Big 3 Automakers when the buyers of the products made by the Big 3 Automakers have lost their jobs and have no money to purchase any new cars? Somehow this idea places the cart before the horse in more ways than one, doesn't it? Why pay taxpayer dollars to Ford, GM, and Chrysler to keep them in business doing the same old thing when that process is what got them into trouble in the first place. The government has already voted to spend money to assist them in development of new technologies for the future...what more is necessary from the taxpayers? Anything that can go onto a list should be paid fo...

Plymouth: Creating a cover letter/resume for job that I have no experience in?
Hello all. I'm having a difficulty writing a cover letter and tailoring my resume for a position that I have absolutely no experience for. It's for a marketing assistant and they are looking for someone who meets the following: Creative skills in layout, typography and photo editing, the ability to conceptualize creative materials for presentation and development, experience in managing web content. I really want this job. I do consider myself creative, but alas, my past three jobs had absolutely no creativity whatsoever. I do take photographs and write on the side, but I don't know how to incorporate that or if I even should. The last time I had to deal with layouts, typograp...

Plymouth: Advice on staying home or working?
I have been fortunate enough to have a boss who has allowed me to bring my newborn to work with me. I work in an attorney's office for 2 attorneys. My now 5 mo. old has been coming to work with me since he was 2 mos. old. It's been kind of up and down. He is a really good baby, but I think sometimes he gets bored. I try as best I can to devote a lot of attention to him, but it's difficult when I have to answer the phone or type a letter, etc... The job is also stressful, because it's mostly criminal defense law. And he can definitely sense when I am stressed, he reaches a point to where he is so upset that the only way to calm him is to leave the office. So we usua...

Plymouth: Real Estate Investment Fraud in North Carolina?
I sent $20K to McGee Investment Group in NC last March 2008 to invest on an East Plaza Development project in Kansas City, MO. Here is what happened - 1.) McGee received my $20K 2.) McGee said he gave the $20K to the builder of the property in MO. (The plan was for me to receive $3500/mo for two years plus the principle investment of $20K at the end of two years.) 3.) Two months later, Thomas McGee said there was a problem with the builder in MO. 4.) I sent numerous emails (for weeks) requesting information about the reason they had a problem in details. 5.) Finally, Thomas McGee said he had a private holding company (He will not tell me the name of the holding company) to buy me (...

Plymouth: Help, I suck at my job!?
I work as an instructional assistant in an SDC (Special Education) class, grades 1-3. Long story short, the students (nine of them, only two of which are autistic, others range in learning disabilities) do not listen to me. I work for a first year teacher in classroom that has gone through several assistants. I have a BA in Child Development and hoped to someday teach, but, apparently I suck at it. the kids run where they shouldn't after being told not to, won't line up, lay on the ground as I read a story, refuse to get up, roll their eyes at me, etc. The teacher eventually has them say they're sorry, but I can tell they don't mean it, or care (I have raised three childr...

Plymouth: Should MOTHERS STAY HOME WITH THEIR CHILDREN?
I'm working on a serious research discussion/report about the female workforce and how it may relate to the current situation in our economy. I've gotten a huge amount of feedback about this question. And it's not sexist, though it may seem that way. I'm looking for some personal opinions and facts about the last 6-7 decades and the economic changes that happened when women began working. Example: Lower wages, fewer jobs, issues with how children are raised and developing, household expenses and budgets, etc.... Let me know how you view this please... Let me get this straight... i'm not saying women should not have the right to work or be equal, It is onl...
