Penzance: Please Help me edit and revise. ?
They say women and men are equal. But that wasn’t the case until Emily Murphy stood up for the women’s rights. Women face inequality and were often underestimated in the work place. Emily was the reason that women had a right to a property. She was persevering and did countless things to give women what they were worth.
A lawyer questioned Emily Murphy’s right to judge because of her gender. He believed that no woman was a “person” in the eyes of the law. Emily and her supporters, known as the Famous Five, decided to petition the prime minister . They asked if women, were qualified as “persons” to qualify for appointment in the Senate . The Supreme Court declared that wome... 21 Nov 08, 04:11:15
Penzance: question about ohio driving laws--anyone involved in law?
im sixteen. i've had my license for about six or seven weeks.
today a girl break checked me and we had a fender bender . There was hardly any damage to the woman's car but she still called the police (understandable). I was given a ticket for failure to allow safe stopping distance. i have a court date in two weeks.
i have good grades, never had a moving violation before, i uphold a job (which i use my car for transportation), and i use my car to get to and from school.
what are the chances of me losing my license? if i do, how long do you think?
i live in ohio if that helps. thanks for all the help :)... 21 Nov 08, 03:11:18
Penzance: Help with choosing a major!?
I'm a freshman in college, and have no idea on what career path I should take. I know I have time to think about it, but I want to know now (for convenience of hours/class schedules/courses/etc). I like to help people, I'm not particularly talkative but I am a very good listener and will go out of my way to make someone happy. I want a bachelor of arts (I'm not good with numbers or science). I would like something in the medical field that doesn't require a PhD, or a job that doesn't require me to sit at a desk all day. I like to move and to be out and about. Business related things are not for me, and law is a possibility, but I'm not a good public speaker. All... 21 Nov 08, 03:11:08
Penzance: I need someone to look at a college essay im writing. I want to know if it's good enough?
The question is At the University of Maryland, we value a diverse community. How have your life experiences and background shaped you into an individual who will enrich the University of Maryland community?
I have so far:
It was December 6, 2007. I was standing aside my brother in FedEx Field even during the gelid, below freezing temperature. We knew our feet were numb, but we had to stand. The ball floated threw the air; the flight felt like an eternity. Boom! Interception. The slightest hope to make the playoffs was lost—yet I was blessed. The Thursday Night Game was the day after my birthday. After countless years of switching jobs and even going back to school, my bro... 21 Nov 08, 02:11:44
Penzance: My sister bought a used car and it died 3 weeks later?
So my Sister in Law just moved to Southern CA and bought a used car (1994 Toyota Corolla). It was sold to her by a mechanic working at a gas station/service station. He told her it was in great shape, he did all the work on it, and if there's ever a problem, she should come back and he'd take care of it.
3 weeks later she takes a trip to San Diego and it dies on her. It's towed to a Toyota dealership where the they it needs a new radiator, sometings wrong with the motor, and tie rod? among other things. It's then towed to the place she bought it from and the mechanic says he sold the car to her as is however, he'll do her a favor and only charge her fo... 21 Nov 08, 02:11:28

Penzance: Does the law profession outweigh the student loans? Is a Tier 2 law school worth the money?
I am thinking about attending law school after I have done my master's. There are two reasons why I am doing it. One is to get a second chance to pull up my grades. SInce I was living in another country, when I moved to USA, I struggled a lot with the language, ergo my GPA is not as good as other law school applicants (3.4) The second one is because I am not sure that I will be able to attend to law school.
Does the profession (what you make after you graduate) outweigh the student loans? Most good law schools would either cost me out of state tuition or be private institutions. All in all, I would end up with approximate $125,000 in loans only. Is it really worth it? Are there prog... 20 Nov 08, 11:11:02

Penzance: am i entitled to extra pay when i do overnights at a non 24/7 store?
i have worked at my job for over a year and ive become one of the well respected employees. every thursdays our truck comes in and some of us stay to haul it through the mall hallways and work and spot and stock the shelves. we usually got out of work at 12 but now we have a new manager and she is trying 2 save hours and cut a few of the people from the truck days. so now we stay intill about 5 in the morning intill the truck is done. its just me and two other people to haul very heavy pallets of merchandise a long distance through the mall which is a two man job which only leaves one other person to do the bulk of the work. our manager demands and gets angry at us when we leave before the e... 20 Nov 08, 11:11:25
Penzance: Getting laid off soon, do employers have to tell us?
I am positive I will be getting laid off soon. The corporate company that I am working for has closed a club, and I handle all accounting aspects of this club. I have not been informed that they closed the club, but hearing things here and there I know it has been closed and am thinking that there is no reason why they should keep me. My questions is, if my employer has known about closing this club and knows that all it's employees will be out of a job, is there any law that is for employees where if the employers know that by 12/31/08 there company will be shut down they have to inform their employees???... 20 Nov 08, 11:11:56
