Nottingham: Business or engineering career?
Hey, I'm still in high school, but 'm having trouble deciding whether I want to do business or engineering when i come out. I mean business comes really easy to me, and on the other hand engineering I've never done physics or chemistry (but I'll be willing to learn them in college). I like engineering cause i heard its a fun job to do, not to mention the pay. With business I don't know if I just like it because its easy to me, and business jobs gets pay way less than engineers. So which one?...

Nottingham: Same jobs with a degree in civil engineering as with environmental engineering?
Would I get the same jobs with a degree in civil engineering as I would with a degree in environmental engineering? The school I want to go to doesn't offer environmental engineering, but they do offer a degree in civil engineering, or a degree in environmental studies. I think you'd have more options with a civil engineering degree than you would with an environmental studies degree. So I think I'm gonna go for a bachelor's in civil engineering, and take some environment-related classes as well (I read somewhere you're not able to minor in environmental studies if you're in the engineering program, but I'm not totally sure about that...). The onl...

Nottingham: What jobs are safe during these hard economic times?
I recently graduated with a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and was offered a job from an Oil and Gas service company as a Field Engineer, and another job offer from Union Pacific Railroad as an Engineering manager (Operations Manager). Both of them pay about the same. I have no idea which one to g for. But as you know, many companies might be going out of business in a few years from now, and I wanna work for a long lasting company. I just do not wanna get laid off after a year or so. Any advices? Thank you so much guys!...

Nottingham: I'm looking for a convienent work-from-home job. Please help, I'm desperate.?
Hello. I have a bachelors degree in Engineering and I'm pretty good in Math. I'm also an electric engineer, yet have no experience. I was wondering if anyone could recommend me to a great work-from-home job. Something that's not a scam, please. I'm really desperate for a home job, because I can't work outside, and I need the extra income for my kids and family. Also, I'd love to tutor or teach Math to kids, but I don't have a teaching degree, which many online tutor/teaching programs want. How could I find a way around this problem? Any specific requirements that I need to follow other than get a degree? Please help. I've been looking for a wor...

Nottingham: is it too late? some career advice?
hi. i am doing my undergrad degree in bioengineering right now. i have chosen this major cos i love biology and i used to be good at maths and physics. and i chose this one over biomed sciences cos i think it's more challenging and the career prospects are better. now i found out that it was a huge mistake. after all, i am not enjoying the extra maths and physics from my engineering degree course and the little or nonexistent biology component of it. i recently read an article about 'women in science' written by an academic from MIT and i knew where i went all wrong. i have a very friendly, bubbly and helpful character which makes me better suited for jobs that are more pe...

Can a Physics PhD find easy work around the world? I want to move from country to country for a few years, staying in each place for maybe half a year. I don't need a lot of money, but I'd need enough so that I can actually have enough money to get out at the end of the six weeks... Are there any jobs Physics Majors/PhD's can get that allow them to travel from country to country switching jobs for a while? i.e. could a Physics PhD go into Engineering and do temporary work for various companies?...
