Norwich: Would it be possible for SOMEONE to answer my wedding query without judging my plans?
I am getting married in December. And it will be a secret ceremony in my home town. Just ME and my PARTNER.
I plan on breaking the news to my family a day later by sending just married notices saying mr craig brown and miss catherine garner were joined in marriage at a secret ceremony that took place on Saturday 20th December at 3.45pm. Please join them for a celebration dinner at The Oaks, norwich on saturday 2nd january at 7pm
I will also give each person a framed photo of us on our wedding day for christmas and we will pay for everybody's meal.
ALL I WISH TO KNOW IS: Can you think of any other nice, creative ideas to make the whole event more special?
People seem unable to answer this question without doubting me plans and telling me what my family (who they know nothing about) will think. I have very very good reason for not inviting my family, they are intefering and will not let me do anything my way. They are ciritical to the point of making me call of my engagement previously so I did not have to deal with constant phone calls. There is no other way around it. Even if I call a day before and say we are marrying tomorrow I will be faced with constant criticism. I should not have to justify this. It is what I wish to do, and if it makes me truly happy that should be enough.

Ok, so it's a little complicated but on Dec 20th this year me and my partner are having a secret wedding, just the two of us. On the same day we are planning to send out announcement cards saying just to say that GROOMS NAME and BRIDES NAME were joined in marriage on December 20th 2008, please join us at The Oaks, Norwich on December 27th for to celebrate.
We wish to pay for all our family to come and have a meal with us and we wish to do it at this restaurant called The Oaks from their festive, 3 courses for £15 menu. The only problem is, we need to give The Oaks our preorders 5 days before the meal so we cannot have the meal on sat 27th Dec as planned as all the orders wont be back from the announcement cards which we plan to send out menus with.
So we therefore want to have the meal on January 5th BUT The Oaks do not run their festive feast menu past 31st Dec! It's a chain restaurant so they can't just change it for one person. I don't wish to buy off of the usual menu because it's too expensive.
I have tried looking at other restaurants that DO run their festive menus past christmas but their set menus are more expensive and they don't have a Kids Option, The Oaks do a kids festive menu for £7.
Other than moving the wedding back so we can get the annoucement cards and menus out ealier, and be in time for the festive menu I cannot see what we can do! Any ideas?

Norwich: What Cable provider could I go through to get the Mets channel (SNY) in Norwich, CT?
I'm a diehard Mets fan moving from eastern Connecticut to western Connecticut (Norwich) I wanted to set up cable, but I want to go through a company (preferably digital) that has the Mets channel SNY. I can't go without watching my Mets! Does anyone living in the area know?
