Norwich: Credit score without having a credit card?
I recently got a job and they will check my consumer report. However, a few months ago, I got to the US to marry my husband. I used to be an international student. I got my social security number in August 2005 when I got a job on campus. I worked on campus for two semesters until my graduation. Now, I cannot apply for any credit cards because I am not a permanent resident.(in this Dec, I will have my interview for my residency). So my husband called up Discovery credit card to add me under his name. However, I am not a prime holder. so all the billing and every thing is under his name. Does it mean that I have a bad credit? Also, how can they use my social security number to investiga...

Norwich: American student considering transfer to UK university?
I'm a current college sophomore with a 3.2 GPA at a fairly large (27,000) person university. I also received a 1290 on the SATs out of the 1600 scale. I have always wanted to go to a university in another country and believe the UK would give me the perfect mix of a familiar language with a more international setting. (my current university promised an international enviornment but did not deliever at all.) I have thought about study abroad but after much research have discovered it would not give me what i really wanted and found that actual transfer would be more beneficial and educational for me. I am wondering what universities in the UK i could get into with my current recor...

Well I'm just an unemployed graduate for more than 2 years unfortunately becuase I live in a third world middle eastern country that doesn't even care about its citizen as most of our governments here, I'm highly educated to a masters degree in one of the leading countries, I also had an international outstanding research certificate from another leading country, but unfortunately in our countries in the Middle East we have nothing but humilation and we have no jobs to look for, my question is I'm going to look for the online jobs, I can be a data typist, or any other available Jobs, but I'm always stuck with the following difficulties: 1) SCAM Jobs, and they are fi...

Norwich: Background check and county?
I went to the HR because I was offered a job. Now, they asked me to put city and state where I lived for past 7 years. I was an international student and I moved around several times due to roommates. So I tried to remember as much as possible. Do they run the criminal or back ground check based on county? I got my social security during my junior year at college due to my campus job. Since then I did not even use my social security card until recently because of job hunting. How does it work? I have never committed any crimes. Last month, I got my credit card with my husband. He is a prime holder. What are they looking? Where did I live??????? I do not get it. I lived in Long...

Norwich: Plan to be a government official one day. Advice?
I recently joined the Navy, making a 76 on the ASVAB and I then went on to take the DLAB in which I passed and signed a contract to be a CTI (of course, interpreter). I will be leaving for boot camp in January, so I figured that I should make a plan on what I want to do during and after my 6 years of service, based on the desires of my heart and the steps that I would need to take in order to get there. I guess I'm just looking for reassurance that my plan, God willing that it would happen, is a good plan. So here goes: After boot camp and while in A School (DLI) in Monterey, I would like to register at AMU (American Military University) which is an online college offering...

Norwich: Will you PLEASE PLEASE give me some advice on this? Please and Thanks. Ten points to most helpful answerer?
I'm a recent high school grad and have don't really have an interest in anything. Just recently I’ve grown an interest in international business. I know I probably won’t get the most fun and rewarding career out of it, but I honestly don’t like anything else. I'm the type of person who knows when I don't like something and I know that I don't like anything because I've done tons and tons of research on every single job and career. I've also taken plenty of classes in anything that I think may interest me. I was home schooled, so I really need some helpful advice. The international business major really appeals to me, but I just want to know if it will...
