Newquay: SHOULD I TAKE THIS JOB?
I am in the Real Estate industry and I was laid off about 4 months ago from a company because they were too slow to pay me. Needless to say i've been on a relentless job hunt since, but the job market here in Southwest Florida is BRUTAL to say the least..I had an interview today and was offered a job by a very successful Broker who's been doing RE for 42 years. She offered me only commission but would give me all her listings and if i sold them then i would get 20% of her commission. Also on bulk sales and mega deals i would get 10% of her commission(could be a $20million deal). But right now i've managed to rack up a lot of bills and i feel that i need substantial income for ... 17 Nov 08, 08:11:01

Newquay: Where can I find jobs teaching English in Satun Province, Thailand?
I am interested in finding a job teaching English in Satun Province in Thailand. Satun is the province that borders Malaysia that does NOT have any of the problems that the other ones down there have been having in terms of violence. I just completed my TESOL certification so that I can teach English and am currently living in Thailand, but much further north. I want to live and work somewhere that is largely away from the big tourist areas, but is close to another country for easy visa runs to the border and also ease to travel during breaks. Satun looks the best so far from what I've read about its culture and low Western impact.
If anyone knows any websites that have current... 14 Nov 08, 01:11:27
Newquay: What can I do with a bachelors in social work? Do you think its smarter to get my MSW right away?
I have about a year left of college before I graduate with a bachelors degree in social work. I've looked into a lot of different master's programs and even current job listings for social workers. I want to work with the aging population so I've been looking at colleges that offer certification in gerontology. Considering my goals and the idea of saving money, please offer me your advice: do you think it would be smarter to attend grad school right away so I can have a job sooner in the field I want to work in or do you think I could work in whatever is available after I graduate and maybe they would pay for me to get my masters? All current job openings for social workers re... 12 Nov 08, 11:11:43
Newquay: If you're a Houstonite with bad credit, what has been your experience finding an apt to rent ?
I live in California, but want to move to Houston. I've got a good job, and can easily afford $800/mo. The thing is that my credit is horrible.
When I go to craigslist, I see apt listings in Houston where the landlord will take someone with bad credit. What are the little known facts about renting with bad credit in Houston? Is relocation still a possibility for me even though my credit's bad?
p.s. I'd rather not share housing. I've already done the roommate thing...but if it's the only way, then any advice on where to find cool roommates online would be appreciated.... 11 Nov 08, 05:11:16
Newquay: Software Engineering or Computer Science degree?
I'm at a crossroads right now. I finish high school in a month and it's that time of the year when I need to be applying for undergraduate programs at universities. I would like to venture into the field of software design/programming, 3D animation, or otherwise game design or something along those lines. I understand that at animation companies such as Pixar and Weta Digital (the guys who did the animation in LOTR and King Kong) have job listings for software engineers amongst their top priorities. I want to apply for either BE(Hons) and specialize in Software Engineering, or a bachelor's degree in computer science, but I don't know which one is best suited to my fields ... 10 Nov 08, 11:11:29
