Newquay: How do I get my first Job on an oil rig?
I'm trying to get an entry level position on an oil rig. I'm currently located in Houston, TX I don't have any previous working experience, but I've completed a Pre-employment floorhand training program at a school accredited by the IADC.
My first choice would be on a Land rig, because the instructor said typically guys on land rigs move up the ranks faster than offshore because there is a higher employee turnaround rate.
Also I would like to stay in the us, and in TX
Both of the preferences listed above are just that... preferences, I'm still open too other oppurtunities as well, because my first priority is getting the first job so I can have some experi...

nurses- im going to school for my RN degree, and have had a rough financial patch. my question is do hospitals/potential employers exercise credit checks and will it hurt my chances of employment?I know criminal bg checks are done....

Newquay: Employment contract advise needed...?
I have worked for a month in a company, and i want to resign. But, my employment contract stated i need to pay 3 months salary and serve 3 months, if i resign before confirmation. If i failed to turn up at work for 2 days in a row.. does that mean the contract is terminated? and do i need to pay any penalty...

Newquay: can your employer change your job NZ?
I am employed as a security officer by a building management team.
Recently they have been adding extra duties to my role. I am now acting as a receptionist for a serviced apartments run from the same site, responsible for balancing the till during my shift, taking reservations and checking in guests, valet parking etc. Im expected to make charges to credit cards etc. I have Absolutely no experience in this field.
Can your employer add on extra duties like that, without asking you if its okay?
Further more I've written a letter stating that im not confident with the new tasks, I've asked for training and received none.
I would prefer that my role continued unchanged but...
