I'm 19 years old, and I attend at an art college. I've been here for a year now and I am happy being here. I know people keep saying that I should just go on and get a degree, but...I never saw myself going to college for a few reasons. alright little background,,we got married really quickly,was only together for 5 mths before we got married,we eloped while on vacation so none of our family,(not even my young daughter from a prev. marriage) was there with us,then after we were married he left a month later to go on a 6 mth deployment,(navy)..that was 5 yrs ago this past May..it has been one very rough and bumpy ride to say the least,we have had so much trouble and have almost split up many times.but we are finally doing great,just had our 1st baby this past March,(little boy) and he is getting out of the navy in about 4-5 mths. we're moving back to my home town,both have great jobs and a home waiting for us when we ge...

Newquay: what do you think is a reasonable amount to ask for for christmas?
like, now that im getting older, im becoming more concious of money issues and i feel bad when my parents spend a lot of money on me.
i know it depends on your family situation. both of my parents are working. dad has an overtime job a few times a week. i have an older and younger sis. 10 and 17. im 15. i know im definitely asking for a cell phone and a couple shirts. do you think that's a good reasonable list? i dont wanna be too selfish and greedy because they have a lot more things to pay for. i know a cell phone costs a lot for a present because your basically paying for all the bills and stuff. idk. some people say $100 for a person's christmas gifts budget some say $400. i j...

Newquay: Should I be an RA next year?
I am an Resident Assistant this year in a freshmen dormitory. I work about 25 hours a week and sometimes more. The on-campus housing experience for freshmen is pretty hardcore.
I have to document my conversations with them, write essays, attend monthly training sessions, a two week training camp before fall, a three day training camp during Christmas break, and so much more.
I find my job very rewarding and have become close with other RAs but the multiple weekend duties are a bummer and my GPA has slipped a little bit due to how much time I dedicate to this job while taking 17 credit hours.
I am pre-law. I don't think this job necassarily looks good on a law school applic...

I worked at a family owned restaurant from Oct 05 to the summer before I went away to college (August 07), then I would come back and work during breaks, like fall break, Thanksgiving, Christmas..anytime I was home. Recently, while I was at school and two weeks after I had worked at the restaurant, the owner sold the restaurant to new owners. I was informed after I tried to get put on the schedule that I was no longer employed there under these new people, when my other co-workers were still employed, but apparently were fired , asked to fill out new applications, and were re-hired .
