Milton Keynes: Am I wrong to be annoyed?
It is compulsory to recycle your waste, or they will refuse to remove your garbage and/or fine you. I don’t have a problem with this as they supply different garbage bins for different types of garbage. My problem is that the local government makes a lot of money out of this recycling and instead of reducing taxes or putting the money back into the local area it is used to plant trees in Africa. At a time when people are struggling financially shouldn’t the local government be trying to help the people who elected them by lowering taxes when they could instead of giving money to another country? What benefit are these trees going to be anyway? Are they going to increase investm...

Milton Keynes: My career is just not happening...and I feel so bad about it. Been there?
I just had a sort of reunion last month and became reacquainted with some of the people I went to university with. I felt so stupid the whole time. I went to grad school back in 2002-03 and did a Master's degree in history at an Ivy school. I had done a Bachelor's degree beforehand. No surprise that didn't lead to a real job. I decided I would go teach English in Japan, which I did, and didn't really enjoy it because the pay wasn't that great and I constantly felt like I could be doing more with my life. That ended in 2006 and I came back home and basically was unemployed for 6 months after that. I then managed to get a job for a young IT company that hired me...

Milton Keynes: When our economy ultimately goes bust, will you be happy just to work in one of Obama's forced labor gulags?
Taken from an Obama speech: Today, AmeriCorps - our nation's network of local, state and national service programs - has 75,000 slots. I know firsthand the quality of these programs. My wife Michelle once left her job at a law firm to be the founding director of an AmeriCorps program in Chicago that trains young people for careers in public service. These programs invest Americans in their communities and their country. They tap America's greatest resource - our citizens. As President, I will expand AmeriCorps to 250,000 slots, and make that increased service a vehicle to meet national goals like providing health care and education, saving our planet and restoring our standing...

Milton Keynes: Does the American public believe that there will be a military victory in Afghanistan?
I don't think so. I don't think we will defeat the Taliban in the long term. Kandahar is run by the Taliban, day and night, its almost impossible for westerners to walk around there. Kabul is under siege from the north west and south at night. Afghanistan is a land that just can't be conquered. Logistically its very difficult. It takes up too many resources. The Greeks, the Persians, the British, the Russians all failed. Why does this coalition think it will succeed. Here is my solution. Cut off the life line of the Taliban, legalize the poppy crop. This is the only thing Afghanistan really produces. Legalize it and give contracts to local companies to make it into morph...

Milton Keynes: I just moved to Florida and cannot find employment. Besides unemployment can I receive any other help?
I have been looking for a job for months now. I did get a job with a local computer company but they just laid me off because it has been so slow economically for them. The complete employment only lasted about a month. This month did not allow me to become eligible for unemployment benefits. Now I do not really know what to do because I have a wife to care for. Is there any other government assistance?...

Milton Keynes: Why is the Federal Immigration and Nationality Act not being enforced?
The law clearly states that people who help, employ etc... illegals are breaking the law and it clearly states that property and cars can be confiscated. Why is our government not doing it's job and arresting people who help these illegals? Federal Immigration and Nationality Act Section 8 USC 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv)(b)(iii) Any person who . . . encourages or induces an alien to . . . reside . . . knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that such . . . residence is . . . in violation of law, shall be punished as provided . . . for each alien in respect to whom such a violation occurs . . . fined under title 18 . . . imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both. Milton Keynes: Do we really live in a democracy in the UK?
I am a little puzzled and maybe someone can define exactly what we have here. I thought that democracy means; 'rule by the people'. It is commonly accepted as the fairest type of government because it means that everybody is equal. Nobody is better than anybody else and everyone has the same power. So most democracies have a system of 'representation'. We choose, by election, someone to represent us, talk for us and fight for us in parliament. That person is a Member of Parliament in central government and a councillor in local government. Their job is to speak on our behalf and represent our interests. If this is the case then why is the Police here stating that ...

Milton Keynes: pls summarize Solitude and the Fortresses of Youth?
Solitude and the Fortresses of Youth By MICHAEL CHABON Earlier this month my local paper, The San Francisco Chronicle, reported that a college student had been expelled from art school here for submitting a story ''rife with gruesome details about sexual torture, dismemberment and bloodlust'' to his creative writing class. The instructor, a poet named Jan Richman, subsequently found herself out of a job. The university chose not to explain its failure to renew Ms. Richman's contract, but she intimated that she was being punished for having set the tone for the class by assigning a well-regarded if disturbing short story by the MacArthur-winning novelist David Fo...

Milton Keynes: Are employers required by law to offer benefits? ?
Are employers required by law to offer benefits? I'm doing a report for accounting and I have to write about these in my report but are there any by law that are required. I looked it up and got this? Are any of these right? Seven things employers are required to offer (this applies to US employers only): 1. Employers must pay the minimum wage, as set by the federal government or a local government. Wages for piecework are allowed in some industries. 2. Employers must pay for break time if it is less than thirty minutes. 3. Employers must pay into social security. 4. Employers must pay time and half to hourly employees who work more than 40 hours in a week. 5. Empl...
