Milton Keynes: Financial Representative - is there a catch?
I recently received a job offer to act as a financial representative for a company.
It was made vaguely clear that it was a customer service-type role, but basically said that I'd be accepting invoice payment on the company's behalf, and receive a salary as well as a commission for each payment.
Is this a safe job to get into? Are there any catches I need to know about before I make a decision?

Milton Keynes: Do I need my ex's permission for adoption by by new partner?
I have a 11 year old daughter with my ex and he is a horrible man. He cannot hold down any job and he doesn't want do. He has a violent and criminal past, present and probably future and he takes little interest in my daughter. He turns up for her when he feels like it, and when he does come she sometimes returns crying because he didn't keep the promises to take her swimming or to the park etc and he has just sat around drinking with his friends. I don't want her to see him at all but believe it's her choice and let her make her own mind up. But recently I found out that he had been stealing while she was in his care and I was distraught. I am going to stop his contact. ... 22 Nov 08, 07:11:18

Milton Keynes: When to date my resignation letter?
My position is being eliminated by the company next month. The company knows I have been searching.I received a job offer today, to start on the monday after Thanksgiving (Dec 1). So, if I give my employer notice on Nov. 24, that gives them 1 week notice. But, the company gives us Thanksgiving and the day after off (Nov. 27 & 28). So the question is? Do I date my resignation for Weds. (Nov. 26) thereby giving them a 3 day notice or date it for Fri. (Nov. 28), which gives them a week notice? I am concerned the company will not want to pay me for the holidays, if I am not returning after they are over. Does anyone know the law in CA about this?... 22 Nov 08, 06:11:26

Milton Keynes: Should I be an RA next year?
I am an Resident Assistant this year in a freshmen dormitory. I work about 25 hours a week and sometimes more. The on-campus housing experience for freshmen is pretty hardcore.
I have to document my conversations with them, write essays, attend monthly training sessions, a two week training camp before fall, a three day training camp during Christmas break, and so much more.
I find my job very rewarding and have become close with other RAs but the multiple weekend duties are a bummer and my GPA has slipped a little bit due to how much time I dedicate to this job while taking 17 credit hours.
