London: How can I verify my employment when I am paid under the table ?
Hello! I work at a company where I never filled out any forms, neither an employment contract or tax forms. Literally, didn't fill out a thing. My fiance and I are looking to buy a home in the next year or two, but as it is now, I cannot verify the income from this job. I have a few other small jobs but this is my major source of income. If I cannot verify my employment and pay then it seems almost impossible to get a decent loan even with my fiance's income and our good credit scores. I asked her if she was ever going to give me something to fill out and she just kind of gave me a yeah soon answer. Is there a way to prove my employment? she always writes m...

London: How much notice should I give and how should I give it?
I have been working in a new job for about three months that has been making me miserable and that I am a horrible fit for. One of my old managers has recently offered me a new position which he said I could either start in two weeks or at the beginning of the year. My employment contract for my current position allows me to quit or for my employer to fire me with or without notice. My plan is to give two weeks but I have a couple of concerns. First, my current manager really likes me a lot and I could see him getting really pissed and just letting me go immediately. The second issue is that since I am in a sales position that involves calling on customers once I leave it is somewhat poi...

London: Is this a breach of employment contract?
I have been employed by Sainsburys Supermarket to work as a Counter Assistant. I accepted the offer and signed the employment contract whilst at the induction. Now I though Counter Assistant was something to do with checkouts [working on the tills] but in fact it's all about handling raw fish, meat and poultry and that wasn't what I was looking to do, on their website the job description does not tell you this, so it's not specific, it only states that you will be serving customers and you will have regular customers. I start this work on Thursday but I want to leave to find another job as a checkout assistant with the same company Sainsburys but in a different branch. Is this...

London: How many years of employment should I give on an application?
I have ten or more years work history, but I only want to put five years because in 2003 I was terminated from a job that lasted 1.5 years. Needlessly to say, I am not proud of my work history. Is only giving five years sufficient if the application does not ask for 10 years time?...
