Lincoln: Where do health unit coordinators work other than in hospitals? ?
I am about to start a course for health unit coordinator at my college. I was just wondering what places hire health unit coordinators other than hospitals. I never see job ads for HUCs anywhere other than at hospitals. Is there a different job title that a HUC would be hired under if working somewhere else? At a Dr's office, wouldn't a medical assistant do the clerical part of the job in addition to the clinical part instead of a unit coordinator being hired? Working in a hospital seems more intimating than working at a Dr's.office or somewhere else. Im sure I will be more confident after the complete the program though. Basically, Im just wondering if I will have diffe...

Lincoln: I fell on the ice outside of my apartment. Is that something they are responsible for?
I fell on the ice on the sidewalk outside of my apartment two nights ago. My shoulder and my ribs are killing me. Is this something I should report to the apartment complex? Also, I don't have insurance for another month due to a new job, so will the apartment have to cover all medical costs? I think I really should go see a doctor....

Lincoln: Possible Medical receptionist job Question?!?
Hey all, i have an unusual situation. I was looking for a medical receptionist job, so i posted my resume on a site. So, today someone called me from a medical office and said that they are interested in having me work with them. So, this is unusual because instead of an interview they want me to go over there tommorow for the whole day and help them out in the front office. They said that tommorow evening they will see and judge i guess if they will hire me as a medical receptionist or a medical assistant. So, i am very excited about this but also Super scared. That is because I have never tried to work in a medical office and i don't know the first thing about working there. So, plea...

Lincoln: working towards SSDI, out of work since 94, don't want to lose SSI?
I am a 35 year old mentally disabled man who would like to work towards SSDI. It's actually my assumption that if i am able to work enough quarters to qualify for SSDI, that should my parents pass away, which i don't want, but i worry alot because they are getting old, and they are somewhat careless, that them leaving me 2 homes, and a small condo, wont jeopardize me losing SSDI or medicaid. The income those houses bring in to my parents are about $1400 right now combined. I hope to be able to keep medicaid benefits and earn SSDI, though if anything should ever happen to my parents, I might regret not going to school and working towards a higher paying job if it means that i won...

Lincoln: What type of career is right for me?
I can't even begin to imagine all the different career paths out there, which is my problem. I have no idea what to do or where to start. Any suggestions would be amazing! Heres a bit about myself... I can't stand a 9-5 job..and I refuse to work at the mall. I'm completely passionate about helping people and have considered the medical field, but needles and blood make me pass out. I love doing volunteer work, and would volunteer my life away but unfortunately I need money to live. I love psychology, but feel that if I were to continue to get my bachelors and masters and become a therapist, I will only be able to help a select group of people. I also write and plan on writing...

Lincoln: Rib makes cracking noise ?
probably a month ago I was in the car with my girlfriend and I was leaning my ribs over the center consul while makin out with her for a while. The next day my lower left rib at the edge was sore to touch. I just thought i bruised a rib. So the next few days went by and the pain died off and recently for a few weeks now the pain came back. the pain isnt bad now but when some times when I press down on my lower left rib i hear a cracking noise. I got really concerned and thought maybe it wasn't a bruised rib but I don't think its my stomach cos the pain is on the surface. Lincoln: Pursue My New Career Or Go On Disability For Mental Health?
I have a family history of depression/anxiety and have had anxiety that that turns into deep depression since my teens. 20 years later I finally left my dead end job and went to school for heating and air. I did very well there and figured my mood disorders were over but once again I'm a nervous and depressed wreck, to the point that I can't concentrate and am afraid to get a job. When I get like this I end up in the hospital as an out patient until the it subsides. Now I'm wondering if I should try to beat this thing for good and get a job or should I file for bankruptcy and mental disability? I have nothing as it is but credit card debt and a head full of bad wiring. The anx...
