News Articles on Job Interview in Lincoln

Lincoln: How should a girl act in a job interview?
My first interview was at a management company for an internship. I was slightly more reserved and submissive than usual, but I got the internship. My second job interview was for a team member position at a popular yogurt store. I was much more extroverted, forward, and probably came off as too strong. It seems that as a girl, I should be more introverted at a job interview. Is this true? Also, I don't know if this would affect anything, but the first interview was with a male and the second interview was with a 40-year-old woman....

Lincoln: I sometimes wonder how some of the Teachers at school got past the interview stage??!!?
At school today one of my subject teachers was saying that she actually does the interviews for the new teachers wanting to start teaching at the school. She said she usually asks hard questions just to make them sweat etc. But me and my friends were discussing it today. It really made us wonder how some of the teachers actually got the job, though! Cause some of the teachers are only like...in their early 20's...(particularly the P.E department), and I cant imagine them being very good in the interview! It just makes me wonder how some of them managed to get the job lol. Im confused!...

Lincoln: I have a question about a job offer description, read below:?
I have an interview tomorrow at an oil company. They have multiple positions available but I am going for two in particular. The first one is a day shift for $14/hr (in which it clearly states). The second is for an OVERNIGHT shift and the pay description is as follows: This long term opportunity pays up to 18.00/hr depending on experience. * If they are the EXACT same job, just different shift...do you think that it will be more than $14/hr? Does it mean they will pay me atleast $16-18/hr for taking on the overnight shift? *Also, the shift is from 10pm-6am. Do you think this is an advantage or disadvantage for a single college student (online classes) in her early twenties (21). Consi...

Lincoln: Group Job Interview at A&F?

When they ask questions, are you supposed to just speak up and answer the question quickly and before any of the other people answer? or is a kind of, go around in a circle and answer the same question kinda thing? Any tips how to outshine the other people being interviewed would be great too. Thanks!...

Lincoln: College interview. HELP!?
Okay so next week I have a college interview. It is the college I really want to go to so I want to make a really good impression. However, I have never been to a college interview before so I have no idea what to expect or how to prepare myself or anything. So I was wondering if anyone with experience in this matter could help me? What kind of thing will they ask me? What will they be looking for in a possible student? Should I dress smart as if I was going for a job interview or just casual? I really need some help so I can prepare myself and get through the interview well....

Lincoln: Why now, are local auto dealers (domestic) begging me to support these American Companies?
I don't fell any loyalty to these big three. Why should I support them? When I have gone to Domestic car lots to look at vehicles, they have always treated me like dirt. They always showed me the low end models. Standard transmission, Am/Fm radio- no cassette/CD, no options at all. This even occured while I was active duty in the military, so, yes I could afford their vehicles. I have bought New domestic vehicles, and they always turned out to be big piles of junk. The domestics never just fix your car for you, they always have to give you heartburn about it, telling you that its not covered under warranty, or they blame you because the dang thing stopped running. I seriously can not su...

Lincoln: Should I write a thank you letter for an interview at a company where I currently volunteer?
I am an intern at a very large bi-coastal PR firm in the L.A. office. There is a part-time position opening up which I will be applying for later today. I'm just curious wheither I should give a thank you letter to HR manager once I've given her my latest version of my resume or not. Is that necessary? Also, if you have any other suggestions for me that would be great! I really want the job but don't want to seem to eager. Thanks for you help!!! Oh! I've got a tip for myself...correct all gramatical errors!!! My above posting should read, too eager not to eager. Doh!...
