Keswick: Legal recourse for a rescinded (non contingent) job offer? ?
I initially interviewed with company A in June (filled out app in June). Company A decided to go with another applicant in June but I got a call from them in October and the position I had interviewed for in June had become open again. They then had me come in for an interview in October, during this interview I asked if I should fill out a new application but they said since it was for the same position that it will not be necessary.I gave them an updated resume and told them I was no longer employed, as I had been in June. I told them my reasons that I voluntarily left that position and the resume reflected this change. I received a job offer (non contingent) later that month. They had...

Keswick: Does anyone know the answers to these questions ? They are for my Business Law class... Thanks?
TRUE / FALSE 1) The words I promise to sell my house for $50,000 constitute an offer. 2) The promisor's intention that his or her promise be legally binding is not required for the formation of a contract. 3) The statement, I promise to buy from you all the coal that I need in my business next year constitutes an offer which is reasonably definite. 4) Not all terms of an offer need be expressed. Some may be implied. 5) If a contractual performance becomes illegal after the offer has been accepted but before the performance has been rendered, the offer is terminated. MULTIPLE CHOICE 6) Informal contracts include A) Letters of credi...

Keswick: Where should I work as a student?
This coming spring semester I will be enrolling in full time classes. It will be my freshman year and financial aid will be paying for everything. I need to find a job that will fit my school schedule and allow me to get decent hours in or pay so I can make ends meet. I can't stand doing classes at night, so the earlier is the better. Working afternoons or nights isn't a big problem for me. I have been in food service, and it has had its pros and cons. In the past I have only held food handling or bus boy jobs, since I cannot serve alcohol. Bussing can really suck ass at certain places if they get busy enough, but the tips were nice. These jobs feel constantly stressful sin...

Keswick: Do you need to sign a contract in the workplace?
Yesterday my husbands employer wanted my husband and the other tradesmen to sign an agreement stating that their gross income is going to be less than they are earning now. Actually by a couple of hundred dollars a week. They are doing it as an incentive based scheme so that if the employee works really hard (most of them already work really hard for 60hrs/wk) they will earn a bonus. However it means that their weekly wage, holiday leave etc will be lower and there will be less money going into superannuation. Everyone else signed the contract except for my husband (I think they signed it in fear of their jobs). The company has never been known to be honest and have lost many workers ov...
