After receiving federal bailout money, (our taxes) AIG executives went on a 'business retreat' that involved golf outings, 5-star restaurants, 5-star hotels and spa treatments. I currently work as an Executive Assistant at a municipality and serve as a Mayoral appointee to my city. Unfortunately I never earned my college degree. I became ill during my freshman year and had to leave. I went to work to support myself and my child, got married had more children became a stay at home mom started 2 companies and when all my children enrolled in school, re-entered the workforce where I currently serve as an Executive Assistant/Assistant Director in my company.
I now find myself in need of a new job. During my search I have discovered that most administrative positions require at least a 2 year degree which I don't have. I truly want to go back to school, but ...

Keswick: Proposed solution for US automakers (alternative to bailout)?
This is what I think about the automaker bailout:
The big 3 need to throw away old baggage of inefficient operations, high executive pays, and high union powers.
My suggestions are:
- Declare bankruptcy (only option to cut all ties with inefficiency)
- Merge operations and create a new company
- Sell off plants to foreign automakers to create more capital(to Hyundai, Kia, or any company that is looking to have production in US), this way workers can still keep their jobs but just with different bosses
What is your take?
I believe they are trying to go green but they are late compared to Japanese manufactures.

Seriously at Comcast they call their call center reps.... account executives. At Georgia Power they are called.... account managers . Do they do this because the company has a self-importance policy in place or to make the employee feel more confident of their job with a formal title for a simple job?...
