Jersey: Who is to blame for Illegal Immigration? Starving Mexicans or the people that hire them?
I am glad to hear that Pres. Elect Obama has his eyes on Arizona's Governor, Janet Napolitano, for the head of Homeland Security. Mrs. Napolitano has a very smart approach to fighting illegal immigration. No, she is not in favor of building some nonsense fence around the border… she goes after the companies that hire illegals.
Honestly, the problem is really a guy who, out of desperation, left his family behind and came to the US to work at $4/hr or his employer that hired someone without papers?
Illegal immigrants are very poor, most don't speak English, are illiterate, and haven't gone through a background check. They accept very low salaries and cause the lowering o... 22 Nov 08, 10:11:17
Jersey: Am I a little bit pushy?
Recently, I spotted a suitable job. Then, I asked my recruiter to contact that firm on my behalf. My recruiter replied to me that he had spoken to the HR director and would discuss me with her in detail soon. Immediately after his reply, I found another suitable job. Given the tough labor market, I thought I should try as much as possible to increase my possibility of success. Thus, I sent an email to my recruiter and asked him to contact the second firm on my behalf as well. Till now, I have not got his reply yet. I think maybe I am a little bit pushy about job seeking and have made my recruiter feel uncomfortable. If it is, what can I do to alleviate this kind of discomfort. Will I just ke... 22 Nov 08, 08:11:08
Jersey: What is the pay for KMart Loss Prevention?
I have a job interview for LPA on monday, and my question is what would the hourly pay rate be? I've worked for Acme Markets for 4 yrs as a meat dept clerk and have dealt with doing inventory, and daily throwout logs. I'm fully aware what shrink is, and have been trained about how to prevent it. I left there making $11.00 an hour, but was only part time (like 30-35 hrs a wk.)
I've worked as a full time casino security guard (for the past yr.) at 11.00 hr, due for a 50 cent raise this mo. (40 hrs a wk). On k-mart's site it said the pay went from 9.65-11 starting.
So if i were to get hired, do u think it's likely that they'd start me off at 11? The LPM I spo... 22 Nov 08, 04:11:53
Jersey: Background check and county?
I went to the HR because I was offered a job.
Now, they asked me to put city and state where I lived for past 7 years.
I was an international student and I moved around several times due to roommates.
So I tried to remember as much as possible.
Do they run the criminal or back ground check based on county?
I got my social security during my junior year at college due to my campus job. Since then I did not even use my social security card until recently because of job hunting.
How does it work?
I have never committed any crimes. Last month, I got my credit card with my husband. He is a prime holder.
What are they looking?
Where did I live???????
I do not get it. I lived in Long... 21 Nov 08, 10:11:37
Jersey: Is this fair or legal?
My husband has been with his company for two and a half years. A new woman was hired in his department and has been there two months. She stole his pay stub out of the desk and ran around showing everyone and complaining that he makes a whole ninety cents more than her. He demanded his stub be returned she said she gave it to HR but they said they don't have it. Now my husband was demoted to a different position and forced to take a three dollar/hr pay cut. Worst of all she is taking his old job. She doesn't even know how to do everything yet! Can they do that? How is this legal?
there really isn't any more details about the story. My husband is a great worker he does way more... 21 Nov 08, 09:11:00
Jersey: Irriatting Co Worker --> What should I do?
I have been working at a job now for about 6-7 mo. and usually by now I am tired of a job and have quit.
I absolutley love this job, and I don't want to have to leave... But just recently (Within the last week) my co-worker has become unbearable. (Biting off peoples heads, yelling at people, starting fights, picking fights with me, freaking out when you even look at her.)
Today, she took some paperwork off of my desk that I had not finished with, tried to send the paperwork through- and after realizing the paperwork was incorrect- (Because I had not finished it)
She tossed it back on my desk, like I should have known better.
She offered a snotty comment, and I replied. She bec... 21 Nov 08, 08:11:17

Jersey: PLEASE HELP ME CHOOSE A CAREER!!! ?
I have been working as a receptionist for 4 years now and I REALLY need to find something else. Im 23 with a High School Diploma. I worked at my first job for 3 years and then they closed down so I started working for this new company. I have been here for about a year now...and I think I'm really ready to do something else. I'm willing to go to community college and obtain a Associates Degree or a certificate. I just don't know what degree or certificate I should choose.
I want a job where I can just sit in a cubicle and work without dealing with customers or clients face to face. I would love to just sit there and enter information into the computer or something like that.... 21 Nov 08, 06:11:09
Jersey: Job Advice? Your opinions on the matter.?
Im waiting for my application to college and the start would be next sept. For the time being i decide to work
i started working in Tim Hortons a week ago with my application stating that i wanted the night shift. Well like i said it has been a week and im still getting used to the cash register. The night shifts deal with the Drive thru services mostly. The thing is the person who be fast enough in taking orders and handing the orders while taking the money as well. I know with time i could get used to it but i wanted to really familiarize myself with the cash register. I still don't know how to key in some orders. Besides the drive thru, the night shift entails me to re-stock suppl... 21 Nov 08, 05:11:45
