I don't believe in gay marriage, I don't believe in gun control, I don't believe that abortion should be legal, but I also feel that it should be a state's decision (all of these should be decided by state's), and I am against affirmative action based on race. Isle Of Skye: Can a UTMB offer you a job, then take it away?
November 10, 2008, I accepted a position with UTMB at Bradshaw State Jail. There were a few steps you had to go thru in before you could start the job. My first step was a background check. (I passed) The second step was a drug test.I took the drug test. The day before Thanksgiving, I received a called from the hiring manager stating, “UTMB decided to reject my application due to the fact, they laid off 3,000 people (due to Hurricane IKE) and that they were going to give the position to one of them.” I know for a fact that I passed my drug test because I don’t do drugs or drink alcohol. Was this legal or illegal? Also, I lived in East Texas....

I worked in a small cable dispatching office, everyone in the office was either related or together romantically or best friends with one of the other two. Now on Black Friday I was off work, I got called at 830am to see if i could come into work because no one scheduled to work showed up to work, I did not go into work b/c i was simply unable to go in without notice. my sister's husband cheated on her, admitted to it, and abandoned her with 2 children. he promised to pay her $560 a month IN WRITING! but now refuses to pay more than 300. my sister makes $330 in 2 weeks at her job and she needs another 270 just to cover RENT. my dad just got laid off AGAIN and my mom hasnt really had a job since i started having seizures last year and a lot of medical issues came up and i culd no longer attend school. there is SO much that happened here but i cant explain it all here. is there anyone who can help me? im willing to explain but i need to know someone is actually listening and not just sees the size of the question and hits back ...im so scare...

Isle Of Skye: State job with out of country degree?
I want to apply for a New York State job (it would just be a traffic agent job - nothing with a particular high level of skill). I am a legal resident in the US - but have my BA degree from Dominican Republic in Graphic Design. They are asking for a GED - and I only have 3 weeks to apply - which means that getting the GED wouldn't work because I wouldn't get the score in time.
Can I apply with my out-of-the-country degree?

I initially interviewed with company A in June (filled out app in June). Company A decided to go with another applicant in June but I got a call from them in October and the position I had interviewed for in June had become open again.
