Isle Of Skye: Are there still a lot of jobs in Atlanta?
I visited Atlanta in 2002 and worked there. It was growing like crazy and booming with employment opportunities. I live in California and plan to relocate out of California because of lack of jobs and high cost of living, Any suggestions, Big Cities that are fun, affordable and employment, and hot ladies... 20 Nov 08, 11:11:50
Isle Of Skye: What do you think about the proposed unemployment extension?
I was shocked to read on the front page of Yahoo that the government is planning on yet ANOTHER 13 week extension of unemployment benefits for American's whose unemployment is about to be up.
Is anyone out there collecting unemployment besides me, and finally happy that the government is trying to help people like me who lost their jobs and cannot seem to find employment?
I am finally starting to think positively about the government. Maybe this country really can turn around.
What's your thoughts?... 20 Nov 08, 11:11:03
Isle Of Skye: Recently divorced. Lost everything. Unemployed 2 years and unable to secure a job...almost homeless!!?
Recently divorced, unemployed for 2 years. Lost everything in divorce this week. Completely broke, actually overdrawn with NO income at all. The state of Georgia unlike other states, is very strict on hiring someone with a felony background. My felony is 30 years old!! I can't believe that something so long ago can be a ghost to haunt you for the rest of your life. I made a mistake, paid my dues, and now I am not allowed to be able to support myself because of it?? This is ludicrous to say the least!! Are there any programs available in GA (or government programs) to help me stay afloat until I can secure employment? I am sure I will find something eventually....but 2 years is a long, ... 20 Nov 08, 11:11:14
Isle Of Skye: What should I place on a resume to make an employer interested?
I've only held 3 jobs and two of those three jobs were so short that I didn't even stay there for a month, because I came across my employers doing illegal business activities or breaking company policy (which would be my most recent job)where management was in on it, so I left. Problem is my most recent job with compusa is now gone too. so I don't even know if I can refer them or not. or even how to since the norfolk store closed.
Do I refer jobs that were less than 30 days?
Do I start, or restart to get hired all over again, would I have to consider the military as an option for employment.? I'm in quite a jam here.
I'm trying to go to college and for the last... 20 Nov 08, 10:11:41
Isle Of Skye: How do I get a job in the government?
I live in Canada. I apply for Government jobs all the time and have worked for them in 4 separate employment agency contracts but I never make it through the direct hiring process.
How do I get screened in so I can get myself in the pool. I'm qualified and want to work a CR-04 position.... 20 Nov 08, 10:11:12
Isle Of Skye: How do you combat depression because of lack of finances?
I'm upset. I have a hard time clearing my mind at night and falling to sleep. By my husband isn't upset. I hear his head hit the pillow and he's already snoring. He doesn't understand that I'm affected by his lack of a job and his self employment . He doesn't make money lately and we really have to squeeze our budget to get by. He was raised like that.. his mom sued people just to pay the mortgage. She was always late on the electric, had the water shut off often. Except she should have known better. She worked for a lawyer and for a hospital. She should have been more mature and reputable. She made a disgrace for her children and now they're fol... 20 Nov 08, 09:11:19
Isle Of Skye: Employment survey...please answer...?
I am trying to do a survey on the economy and would appreciate your help. Please answer the following questions. I'll have more later tonight.
1. What field of work are you in?
2. Do you think you will face a layoff?
3. Do you fear losing your job in this economy?
4. Anyone in your family lost their job recently?... 20 Nov 08, 09:11:53
Isle Of Skye: Can a company/employment agency not allow you to fill out an application based on how long you have been out?
of work. how else are you're supposed to find work, if policies state: We cannot accept your application unless you have worked a consistent six months, how can you work any time when you are not given to opportunity to even fill out an application? filling out applications does not mean you are going to get the job anyway.... 20 Nov 08, 09:11:00
Isle Of Skye: I would like to move to the USA, and get a green card how?
I am a British citizen with dual Irish nationality, though I am not the most attractive of applicants with a basic secondary school education I have always had a dream of moving across the pond. Unfortunately, as life does, things have always got in the way until now. I'm confused by the vast amount of information on the internet but I think I would qualify initially for an H2B visa, but suspect if I wanted to stay on when that finished I would be breaking some sort of rule if i wanted to stay or become a full citizen (if that was possible?) so I'm not sure if this would be the right route to follow. Also, if this were the case where do I start applying for jobs (from the UK) befor... 20 Nov 08, 08:11:21
Isle Of Skye: How do you tell your husband that his lack of financial support is killing your relationship?
I can't sleep at night anymore because my self-employed husband has no work lined up until Spring. We are hardly getting by. We're on food stamps and he goes to the store with me and the baby (because he traded our car for a car I can't drive-stick shift) and we end up spending much more because he throws things in the cart and buys sodas and all sorts of nonsense I would never buy. He's not very sensitive to the subject of money and hates when I talk to him about anything.
Our rent is due in 2 1/2 weeks. We have about $300 cash right now and that's all the money we have. I paid all the bills a few weeks ago and they'll come in again in Dec. Christmas is arou... 20 Nov 08, 08:11:37
