Isle Of Skye: What will happen to our economy when the construction jobs go to illegals and our tax dollars head to Mexico?
What will you do when your tax dollars go to construction companies and those construction companies hire illegals. The illegals take that money and send it back home to Mexico and puts little back into our economy here at home? What will you say to Pres. Obama then?
Wooglet Voot never fails to say something stupid. But, when you say stupid stuff on my questions you get called on it. I live in Texas and there are tons of construction jobs here. Yes, housing has cooled but companies are expanding like crazy. They are also working on roads. If they did leave they will be back when the bridges start construction. Here in Texas we pay for our own roads and that is what Ohio and PA should do as w... 03 Dec 08, 08:12:50

Isle Of Skye: Can I collect unemployment while working a side job?
I currently work a seasonal construction job that lasts about 1700 hrs a year (may-Nov.) which is about what most people work in a full year. I am now thinking of turning my hobby into a side business and am wondering if I can still collect the benefits that I work all summer for? This side job will consist of up to 5-7 grand per year. Any feed back would be great on what I need to do to make this happen. Also what type of business should I be putting this into?
Thank you.... 03 Dec 08, 04:12:15
Isle Of Skye: I am about to be relocated for my job on temp assignment for a year and a half. What do I need to know?
I have been asked by my company if I would relocate for a year and a half term to be on site support for a construction project. What type of things should I be negotiating with my company in terms of per dium, travel home allowances etc. This is my first long term job and want to make sure I know what to expect from and what I should try to negotiate for with my company to make this work well and assure this will also be financially beneficial to me. Some suggestions or Do's and Don'ts of travel like this would greatly be appreciated.... 03 Dec 08, 02:12:02
Isle Of Skye: Exactly how many jobs will actually be created by funding bridge and road construction?
I bet it is not that many. Too many people and too few decent, productive jobs. Face it, another stimulus package from hell. More dumb ideas from Washington, D.C.
They had better concentrate on the soup kitchens and bread lines until things get better, which will probably take more than four years.
I think all that funding will end up in the pockets of a few fat cat construction company executives and suppliers like caterpiller and some automated materials companies, concrete, asphalt etc. not really a lot of workers would be needed. more tax money for the fat cats and power and glory for the politicians.
the devil is in the details.... 02 Dec 08, 11:12:08

Isle Of Skye: how can i get my husband to shower?
the thing is, that he works in construction...well right now for the last 6 months he hasnt found a job (financially were ok..no worries) but hygenic-wise there is such a problem.
when he works....he showers everyday after work cause he's undesputably dirty
but since he doesnt wrestle with mud he feels he's not dirty. he thinks deodarant is like soap.
i have asked him nicely.....he gets offended and defensive
i've told him in a strong voice that he needs to shower...he brushes me off
i've told him straight out what problems him not showering brings...he gets defensive and turns makes it an arguement.
