Isle Of Skye: Do you think Civil Engineer a good career choice?
I am 18 years old male taking Liberal Arts Major and going to the sophomore year to a community college right now. I have decided to transfer to a 4 year college. The problem is that I feel that I wasted 2 years in a community college. I will have to start over in a 4 year college to get Bachelor in Civil Engineering (Structural Engineering), and it 4 years program. It seems like Bachelor Engineering will take me 6 years instead of 4. Do you think its worth it? Is it the lowest paid engineering field? What do you think? How much do they get paid and is it prestigious career? Is it similar to architecture? Because I wanted to become Architect, but changed my mind. Thank You....

Isle Of Skye: Why does my teacher want me to fail in life?
I have this civics/careers teacher who keeps supporting crappy community colleges and being a plumber. He says that prestigious universities are scams and all this pure bull$hit. I told him that I wanted to be a doctor when I grow up and that was my long term goal since grade 6, but he keeps discouraging me with his sh*t. He's says things like doctors are in a huge debt when they finish school or do you want to be in a hospital all your life help sick people? He also says that doctors don't necessarily get paid more than plumbers and more b/s. He reminds me of my old guidance councilor who convinced me not to go to IB. I hate them all.
