Ipswich: Since when is $20 an hour too low to be a Flight Attendant?
I just went to research a little about becoming a flight attendant which i have been curious about. a lot of people (who aren't flight attendants) are saying how the pay is so low and blah blah blah keep your office job blah blah blah.
So i just searched for a flight attendant rate and it's $15 an hour for a start for a small airline, $20 for a well known airline and it goes up from there..
Now, the office job that i have right now pays $15 an hour it's so much stress, you don't know how long you will have it cause of the economy right now and it SUCKS to sit in the office all day and do boring/stressfull crap and never get to travel EVER, So what is up with you peo... 01 Dec 08, 11:12:27
Ipswich: What am i meant to do? Do i quit my job?
I'm 30 years old and i work as a pilot for an airline called easy jet. I really like my job and as it takes me to all different places. I have slept with most of the women in the airline and i have cheated on them as well. I have treated most of them like sh*te. Just recently i was going out with a girl that i had been going out with for a while in the past. I had broke her heart at one time. But she seemed to really like me now and she seemed as if she had forgiven me. It was a late night and i decided i would take her home to my place to see where we would go from there, (sex hopefully). We got to my flat and then we went into my bedroom, she then told me to go onto the bed. After tha... 01 Dec 08, 08:12:52

Ipswich: economics question about explicit costs?
Sam quits his job as an airline pilot and opens his own pilot training school. He was earning $40,000 as a pilot. He withdraws $10,000 from his savings where he was earning 6 percent interest and uses the money in his new business. He uses a building he owns as a hanger and could rent it out for $5,000 per year. He rents a computer for $1,200, buys office supplies for $500, rents an airplane for $6,000, pays $1,300 for fuel and maintenance, and hires one worker for $30,000. Sam’s total revenue from pilot training classes this year equaled $90,400. Sam’s explicit costs this year equals:
a. $84,400.
b. $39,000.
c. $55,000.
d. $45,600.
e. $40,000.
I really think the answer is D. B... 30 Nov 08, 10:11:44

Ipswich: Pilots: I'm thinking of going corporate over the airlines...what do you think?
I'm 39 and just turned 1200 hours total time. In other words, I'm at a bit of a loss of advantage compared to younger pilots. Since it is getting harder and harder for a pilot to score that golden major airline job, with the majors giving away more and more routes to regionals, I'm wondering if a corporate pilot at a good company has a better life and gets paid better. At my age, even if I did get to a major airline, I'd probably never see much seniority as a captain. There's a company in my town that has three Citation 10s, they go all over the world and thier pilots seem really happy. Certainly a large corp flight dept has retirement and profit sharing, but I w... 30 Nov 08, 07:11:46
Ipswich: How do you walk away from your marriage, from your life?
I've been married to a man for 15 years that has substance abuse issues and more emotional baggage than all the airlines combined. I used to be so confident and self assured, but now I'm an emotional wreck. Every day I have to fight the battle between good and evil....every time I get behind the wheel I'm suspect....Will I drive off a cliff, will a intentionally run a red light or will I just go to work and continue living this sham of a life. I have 3 kids, 2 at home a decent job but a marriage made in HELL. My husband is addicted to crack, addicted to porn, wouldn't know the truth if it walked up and said hello, but everyone thinks he's just the best thing that ... 30 Nov 08, 07:11:14
Ipswich: Marriage. College. Jobs. Advice?
My husband & I got married in March 2007. We are not having marital problems or anything like that. We're doing great (in that manner). He is 25 years old & has his bachelors degree. He's still working at the same job he had in college (cell phone rep). He has applied for about 65 jobs in the last year & hasn't been able to find a new job. His degree is in commercial aviation. He has a private pilot's license, but he doesn't want to fly for a living. He didn't realize that in school. He's planning on starting grad school for his MBA in January. I'm a senior in college, but not graduating till next year. I'm taking 18 credit hours a sem... 29 Nov 08, 06:11:14
