If you don't think I can, how do you think I can improve my chances? I'm a Junior, I've had a 4.00 for the past 2 years (all honors classes, soon I'll be taking a ton of AP courses), I'm the president of the French Club and Ultimate Frisbee Club. Inverness: I need someone experienced with UC personal statements (10 Points BA)?
I'm worried about my personal statement. I submitted my application to UC already but am wondering whether or not my personal statement was good enough. I was hoping to get info from someone who has experience with UC's. I am a transfer student from a community college. I am a sociology major. I have a 3.8 gpa and my counselor already told me that is good enough to get into my number 1 choice UCLA but the only thing I have left to worry about is my personal statement. I'm in Gr. 10
my best subject is academic math and i'm good at it. But Struggle at Problem solving.

Inverness: Do you have a spare laptop that you don't use?
I am an Information Technology student here at the Philippines. I kinda came from a poor family and is struggling through college. Luckily I have an academic scholarship that grants me a full tuitional discount which lets me study for now. I am in need of a laptop right now. It is really a pain for me to go to internet shops just to finish my activities. Even a second hand will do. As long as it's working then it's fine with me. So about me.
will graduate with an IBO Diploma.
Taken 11 AP exams (passed with 3 or higher of course)
GPA: (weighted) 6-7.
Strong: 2 years of Bio and Chem at the college level, but taught in high school. Specifically, HL chem and bio, in the IBO program.
SAT: not taken yet.
extra curricular: some. 2 sports, some local help. some organization, and minute leadership qualities.
I wanted to be a veterinarian for the longest of time, and then in middle school 8th grade, i switched to wanting to be a doctor. I love the challenge, the material, pay and overall job. I hate sleeping, love staying up and doing homework. I live for academic success. VERY good at science.

I finally figured out what I want to do with my life. I work as a government auditor and the only thing I love about my job is providing public service. If I could help people on a more personal level, I'm sure it would provide even greater satisfaction.
Here's the problem. I have a 2.92 GPA, Bachelor of Science in Accounting Degree. I have a C in Biology and a C+ in Biology Lab. I was 17 years old when I got these grades in Biology (I was young and I'm actually proud of what I accomplished). I'm 23 years old, African American male.

Inverness: Obtaining custody of abused sister..?
I moved out of my mother and step-father's house three years ago because my mom is physically and mentally abusive.. I'm living with my dad until I graduate in May.
My sister is 13 and recently told me that mom has started to physically abuse her. All I know is that she has been choked and my step father had to pry my mom off of her.
My mom is not safe.. she has broken my nose, chased me around with a baseball bat, thrown knives.. I do NOT want that for my sister!

Inverness: Full time jobs for 17 year old WITHOUT highschool diploma?
Because of personal issues I've been advised to defer my last year of high school in the International Baccalaureate program (similar to AP) until next year under the assumption that I will be better then and will be able to achieve university worthy marks. I therefore, do not have my high school diploma, but I have FULL intentions of going back to school next year, getting my IB/high school diplomas, and going off to university for either integrated/life/health sciences.
