Inverness: Questions about Arabic...Egypt study/teach abroad?
I am currently in college and I will graduate in December 09' or Spring 10' with a degree in Spanish and Law & Justice. After I graduate, I want to learn Arabic before applying for a job in law enforcement. I want to spend about a year abroad teaching or volunteering (I am thinking about doing this through an organization). Does anyone have any suggestions as to good organizations, preparation, and specific countries or cities? I was thinking about Egypt, since the Arabic spoken there is more widely understood and it seems safe....

Inverness: If your 11 year old son wanted to pull a fire alarm in a fire would you let him?
If your 11 year old son and you were outside and saw a fire and he asked could he pull the fire alarm since he wants to do the right thing and wants to learn what to do if he were alone in this situation.
Would you go with him to the fire alarm and give him verbal instructions as how to operate it etc to make it a learning experience? What verbal advice would you give your son so he knows he is doing it right? Inverness: Is it possible for a graphic designer with a total mental block for learning web design to actually master it?
I have been in print graphic design for 12 years but was laid off a few months ago. Now I find that there are hardly any print design jobs to even apply to—and that's across the whole country! It seems as if I have no choice but to learn web design if I want to stay in the design field—but I have never been good at it. I am very right brain and am not good with math or coding. Inverness: What are some options for a possible career?
I'm very interested with foreign languages and have made plans to learn arabic to land a job with the government. however I am seeing now that this will be really hard to do. So I want to major in something that will get me some money. I've thought about advertising but is foreign language even useful in that area? what are your thoughts. I do plan to become a teacher when I am older so i'm looking for something that can make me money that requires languages. Anything helps! I'm 24. I have 1.5 years of teaching experience, but this is either from a part-time or private school setting.
I am very passionate about traveling and working with ministries and organizations in foreign countries but I also love teaching History and informing people about current events.
My dream job would be to travel and write in the summer and teach at the collegiate (community college) level the rest of the year.

Inverness: What do you think about this lesson/trainer situation?
Right now, I am going to college full-time, as well as working 16 hours a week. I am also trying to get my riding back to the point where I would be able to do well in local schooling shows (I have not shown in ages).
At the same time, my boyfriend just started taking hunter lessons with me, though I have been riding for 11 years and he has only had a few formal lessons.
Our trainer is a friend of his (and now of mine), who is very fun. Inverness: I feel like such a failure!?!?
I mean I am only eighteen but I feel like the largest failure in the world....
I always get such low grades in school, and every time I try so hard to study and everything, but everything just goes through my brain and it is really horrible...I don't even want to go to college because I think I will waste my parent's time and money, and I will probably get far behind and get poor grades, and once again dissapoint them.

Inverness: Do you ever feel like your teachers style of teaching is bringing your grade down?
so i have this teacher and she is the single most boringest teacher i have ever had in my entire life. She should not be allowed to teach at all. I mean im sure she'd make a great tutor or something but she doesnt command respect from the class at all...nd we're not a bad class, we barely talk because she is sooo boring
i mean a teachers mood/style is what really makes the class
half the kids walk in like ten minnutes late and she doesnt say anything
her voice is soo quiet no one can understand her--her boring way of standing infront of the class and whispering makes me wanna bang my head against the table, basically i'd rather be dead then have to listen to her... also ...
