Inverness: Moving to Anchorage, Alaska in January, I have some questions!?
I've been reading through the posts on here and most of them regarding moving to Alaska (Anchorage municipality) have been very informative and helpful, but I just have a few questions that are more specific to my situation.
1. We are leaving in January, and the car my roommate has now is in no way fit to drive around in Alaska (regardless of how often they clear the snow). We will be flying into Anchorage and hope to find an INEXPENSIVE but moderately safe vehicle, that will last at least for temporary inner-city use only while job hunting and exploring the town. At the moment im doing Beauty therapy. i was to do spa massage then go on to train for a physiotherapist or at least i think so.

so, im 16 and ive been applying for jobs literally EVERYWHERE since August. and i have yet to get a job...and now that its close to christmas, i really need some money to get gifts for everyone. Im in beauty school, so i thought maybe i could charge people to do their hair, im also going to wash this ladies dogs for 50 bucks. i thought about babysitting, but theres just no one to babysit around here. my mom wont pay me to clean the house anymore. so...i have no other ideas.
can anyone give me some advice for making pretty good money before christmas?

Inverness: Ashamed to bring my girlfreind to social events involving my job?
My job recently had a graduation ceremony for some recruits (including myself) who graduated from the academy. I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I can honestly say my girlfriends looks good to no one but myself. She is a big girl and I didn't invite her because in my field of employment, it's very common for employees to make fun of each other and pull pranks on a regular basis. I knew if I would have brought my girlfriend to the ceremony, I would have never heard the end of it. All the other guys who I graduated with girlfriends and/or wives all where what most men deemed to be a typical HOTT girl.

Inverness: How Do I Tell Someone They Didn't Do Such A Great Job Or Couldn't Do It At All Without Offending Them?
Here's the thing, I just got my hair dyed today. The person who did it for me say's they went to beauty school. That person I am talking about also lives with me. We bought the dye at CVS.
