Huntingdon: Im looking for a good job once I leave the Navy in a few months, what are my options considering my experience?
I started out a deck seaman, then I did some work with a construction batallion, and then I became an Aviation Ordnanceman 3rd Class. I would like to be a civilian again, but I dont think that my options are too open; I dont think the pay will be worth getting out of the military... Any prior servicemembers who have any advice?...

Huntingdon: I want to save/rescue people in the military. What can I do?
Ok I want to save people. I have seriously considered being a coast guard rescue swimmer but i want to be in the military. I want to be either air force, navy, or marine (I don't think army is for me but I'm not yet completely eliminating it). I'm a women (college freshman), I know this dramatically cuts my rescue options down, but what can I do? I thought about being a flight surgeon because I really want to be in a plane but after looking into flight surgeons they aren't really involved in rescue. I've also considered aviation. Someone mentioned SERE which sounds like an awesome job but I want to be more involved with rescue itself. What options are there for women...

Huntingdon: Is being an air traffic controller worth looking into as a possible career choice?
First off, I DO NOT want to be rich. I only require to live in the NJ/NY area. I am in high school and am doing fine right now. Basically, as long as I can afford a nice house (under 1M) and a nice car (like a used Mercedes) my life will be fine. Haha, in all seriousness though, that is really all I want. A nice job with a comfortable salary and a nice pension for when I decide to retire. I am really interested in aviation. However, I have a lazy eye so I cannot become a pilot. Some people have pointed me in the way of air traffic controlling. I have heard this is arguably one of the BEST if not, THE best job you can get without a college degree. Now, bear in mind, it is no p...

Huntingdon: Marriage. College. Jobs. Advice?
My husband & I got married in March 2007. We are not having marital problems or anything like that. We're doing great (in that manner). He is 25 years old & has his bachelors degree. He's still working at the same job he had in college (cell phone rep). He has applied for about 65 jobs in the last year & hasn't been able to find a new job. His degree is in commercial aviation. He has a private pilot's license, but he doesn't want to fly for a living. He didn't realize that in school. He's planning on starting grad school for his MBA in January. I'm a senior in college, but not graduating till next year. I'm taking 18 credit hours a sem...

Im currently going to college, going for my AS degree in aviation. I just wanted to know whats an estimated cost for flight training. My adviser says, it can cost around 40-50 thousand dollars before I become officially employed. Commercial Helicopter Training...
