Heathrow: I am at a crossroads here! name the pros and cons between majors?
I am having a tough time trying to figure out what to major in for my masters degree.
What would you consider to be the pros and cons of getting a major in
Special Ed........I already have a degree to teach Art k-12 OR
Graphic Design
These two jobs are in high demand....teaching art with an out of state license is NOT........especially because I am not fluent in speaking spanish here in So. Cal
I am struggling with finding a career that satisfies both of my love of Art and my love of teaching
What pros and cons might you find within these two majors?... 20 Nov 08, 11:11:00
Heathrow: Good freelance web design sites?
I have been doing freelance web and graphic design for the past three years aside from my full time job. Most of my jobs have been found through word of mouth, businesses go to the college and, when I attended there, I was notified when a business needed a website and I would complete the task.
Now I have graduated, have my Graphic Design degree and Web design and authoring certificate, and my goal is to move into freelance work full time. I have an online portfolio website.
How can I achieve this? What are good websites where businesses can go to post jobs for freelance designers? How else can I get my name out there?... 20 Nov 08, 11:11:34

Heathrow: Salary for a graphic designer in The Netherlands?
I've recently moved to The Netherlands from Australia and have luckily scored a job interview with a design agency.
I've done a little research and based on my year of full time experience, plus another 2 years of freelance experience, would it be suitable for me to ask for about €1600 per month?
Any suggestions? Many thanks...... 20 Nov 08, 08:11:37
Heathrow: Freelance design career - interior or graphic?
So my last question kinda went by the way side but here's a slightly different version:
Does anyone out there know which area of design would be the most opportunistic for freelance/own business/part time work? I realise graphic has a lot of applications and probably more work, but would interior pay more as projects would take longer?
PS. I am a postgrad musician looking for a day job! Flexibility is very important, so that I could take on more/less work depending on how much performing I am doing at that time. I have guaranteed entry to a graphic design diploma course but interior seems appealing.... 20 Nov 08, 12:11:16
Heathrow: Advice on Education: What can a BFA and MBA net me?
I currently have a BFA in graphic design and I am considering a masters in business (MBA). I would like to know what types of jobs this combination would net me. Has anyone gone this route before? Would anyone out there hire with this combination?
Also, please include some salary ballparks. I'd like to know if I can pay off these loans someday.
Thank you in advance.... 20 Nov 08, 12:11:08
