Harrow: Interview last week Wednesday...should I call the company?
I had a second interview for an entry-level position last week Wednesday, but I still have not heard anything from the company. I sent thank-you letters as required, via post, and hoped to hear from the company by the end of last week.
My friend works in the department for which I interviewed, and she informed me that they have not made an offer yet (as of this week Tuesday). I am concerned that I am not one of their top candidates, as they have not offered me the position to date, but is it common for offers to take a while for entry-level job-seekers? They told me they were planning to make a decision early this week...

Harrow: was my marriage just about a visa?
my husband was an asylum seeker when i married him 7 weeks ago but since i got married his attitude has changed you see i meant to work full time to support him but lost my job about 9 weeks ago and been on the sick ever since he is always commenting how lazy i am the i should go get a job that we need to start to save money for his visa my worries are that im 12 weeks pregnant what happens when he gets what he wants do i bail know or give him the benefit of the doubt and try to work out my marriage for my babies sake...

i am 2 years passed redundancy age[women]but told my boss i would work on as allowed until my 65 th birthday.I also deferred my pension until that date.Due to the downturn in work my firm are now making redundancies,i may be one of them.other workers under retirement age can sign on,as i deferred can i sign on?...

Hi All,
I've worked well with following tech niche (some may free, some not):

What is your best niche? Please list here.
In my mind, best niche should avoiding noise from candidates. They should have a great filter system. Of course, in another aspect, they can reach the max quantity of the niche job seekers (You can check their unique visitor to find how many job seekers visit their website per month on http://quantcast.com.)

Harrow: Job interviews - Why do you want to work for company X? ?
Don't you think interviewers are being just a little naive when they ask this question?
I mean, if you are a job seeker, clearly you will have applied to many different places. It's not, at least most times, a situation where you have a burning desire to work for 'company X', but rather you are looking for a job where you can use your skills.
Rant over. I just have been attending a lot of interview and tired of being asked the same questions....

Harrow: Do people like this really exist?
Due to the credit crunch i've lost me well paid banking job and now out of work i'm living on job seekers allowance of £65 per week.
Well out go waitrose and M&S i've been doing me shopping in iceland and BLIMEY i cant believe me eyes talk about rough women, all dressed in track suits showing off their midriff (stretch marks as well) teeth missing and tattoos all up their arms buying some off the most unhealthiest food and drink there is.
Mobile's in one hand while giving the kid a smack with the other hand and then swearing at the poor child.
I had the misfortune to be behind two of them in the queue, well the foul language that came from their mouths not to ment...

i have two non dependents with me who can not get full time jobs the one can only work part time because she has a disability and does not qualifier's for any allowances has they don't think she is sever enough and the other one just can not get has she is trying for full time because she gets one pound over on her part time wage and is not entitled to job seekers allowance...

Harrow: Laid off or out of work people... Are you finding yourself having to lower your standards for a job ?
considering all of the over-saturation of job seekers right now. I believe that until the supply and demand of jobs to job seekers finds a healthy equilibrium, people like myself will need to suck it up and find a job at the local starbucks in order to attempt to keep up with the bills!
Is this you too?
Just curious if I am the only one facing this scenario?

Harrow: so the uk is over populated, whats your answer?
I dont know much about the BNP but what I do know is they want to send people home who do not belong here, anything over that I dont know. but they seem to have gathered so much hate from people.
My question is if most people are against sending people back to their home countries what other soloutions do you have? the Uk is over populated, people have more children now, people live older, children are having children, asians have more than one wife and more than one family (or some do) and us English lets face it were popping kids out like they are going out of fashion. The United kingdon is a small island but it seems everyone is coming here, I have absoloutely NOTHING against other races...
