Harrow: how do i make sure my lawyer is doing his job in my custody case?
I'm step mom who takes care of a beautiful little boy who has autism. Unfortunately his biological mother is a dead beat who shows her face when its suitable for her. I feel the only reason she fighting for any time at all is to save the little dignity she has if any. our lawyer suddenly started to raise prices and stop doing his job. Most of our communications have been with the guardian ad lit-em who represents our little boy. As frustrating as this is we just don't have the money to put down a retainer fee for a new lawyer....

Harrow: What legal rights do guardians have?
Here are the basics you need to know before answering my particular question: - My brother got his girlfriend pregnant when they were 13 but he took responsibility for his actions and helped raise his twins. - They got married when they were 16 and lived together for the next 5 years until they were 21. - She did a runner when she was 21 - she went to Las Vegas and left my brother with the responsibility of two children. - He was doing a damn good job of raising them (with the odd bit of help from his family) but he died when he was 23. - I was made guardian of my niece and nephew (she was absent and it was in his will) and continued to be for the next 2 years. - Last year, my ex-sis...

Harrow: Do we have any rights as temporary guardian?
My husband and I have taken in his 10 yr old sister after his mom left to go meet a guy she met on a chat line. She was to be gone for a 2 week period. After she got there she didn't have the money to get back so she asked us to take care of his sister in till she got on her feet. We said we would so she sent us a paper saying we had temp guardianship in till she was able to get on her feet. Well this was back in July. In December she called saying the guy she was with wasn't working and he was kicking her out that she needed a bus ticket to get to her ex mother n laws that she was going to stay there in till she got on her feet. So my husband decided to go get her and let her spen...

Harrow: Wrist Tattoos and professional job? Opinions?
I was wondering, if you were going to be in a field that is conserative, like being a teacher or working in healthcare, would you get a tattoo on your wrist? I was wondering, can you easily cover them with a watch if it is little (I am a guy and wear thick/wide band watches)? I would think it is not that hard, hearing people mention on here about how you can't hide them that easily. What do you think? I was wanting a band that I have drawn up that resembles a thorn band like what was used to make up Jesus' crown of thorns that he wore while being crucified. I am a Christian and most of my tattoos have some religious meaning/connotation (guardian angel, cross, kanjis for heaven and ...

Harrow: Specific Arkansas Custody, professional advice appreciated.?
My ex and I had a child together, in the State of Arkansas. The child and myself still reside in the State of Arkansas. I am recognized by the State as the child's biological father. The child is two years old. Approximately six months ago both my ex and myself signed a temporary order of custody to grant custody of the child to my mother and step-father, who reside in Arkansas. I have been providing for the child for the majority of her life, as my ex has not held a job. I was incarcerated for one day in early 2007. The charges were subsequently dropped. The night that my ex and I split up, I called the police due to violent threats made by her towards me and the arrival of her...
