Harrogate: Would the fact Mr. Obama has agreed to make modest changes in his proposed tax cuts (Cont'd)?
Would the fact that Mr. Obama has agreed to make modest changes in his proposed tax cuts be indicative of more rifts between he and the democrats? If they can't agree now, and he's not even been sworn in yet, how in the world can he keep the promises he made to the American people? WASHINGTON – Pushed by fellow Democrats, President-elect Barack Obama agreed to modest changes in his proposed tax cuts on Friday after inviting lawmakers to just show me ideas for fixing an economy shedding jobs at an alarming rate. Democratic congressional officials said that Obama aides came under pressure in closed-door talks to jettison or significantly alter a proposed tax credi...

Harrogate: No matter who you support can we applaud Fergie for being the master of manipulation?
If he was not a football manager he would make a most excellent psychologist. A case in point being his out spoken criticism of referees if things don't go his way. This is specifically designed to influence and frighten them and their governing body into United favourable decisions in the future. Just a few examples: April 2007 Man Utd manager Sir Alex Ferguson criticises referee Herbert Fandel in their 2-1 Champions League defeat at Roma. Nov 2007 accuses Howard Webb of favouring Arsenal after 2-2 draw. Nov 2007 Fergie charged with using abusive language to referee Mark Clattenburg after being beaten 1-0 at Bolton. March 2008 After FA Cup quarter-final defeat to Portsmou...

Harrogate: Graphics Freelancing as a Teen?
I'm a Junior in high school and I'm looking for a job. Unfortunately, my mother won't allow me to have a job during school, but I could really use the money for when I'm with friends. I'm pretty decent with graphic design and photography and was wondering if there was a way that I could do freelance graphic design at my age from home. If there is, I don't know anything about legal information such as taxes and whatnot, so I would also like to know about that, because I'd really hate to get in legal trouble. Anything helps! Thanks in advance!...

Harrogate: 10 Husbands, Still a Virgin?
A lawyer married a woman who had previously divorced ten husbands. On their wedding night, she told her new husband, Please be gentle, I'm still a virgin. What? said the puzzled groom. How can that be if you've been married ten times? Well, Husband #1 was a sales representative: he kept telling me how great it was going to be. Husband #2 was in software services: he was never really sure how it was supposed to function, but he said he'd look into it and get back to me. Husband #3 was from field services: he said everything checked out diagnostically but he just couldn't get the system up. Husband #4 was...

Harrogate: I have a great job with great pay...but my heart's not into it...anyone out there like me?
I've been in the working/professional world for eight years. The day after I graduated from college, I was immediately working 8:30am to 5:30pm everyday. I've worked at a University, an Insurance Company (which I absolutely HATED), and a Sports Marketing Firm. At the Sports Marketing Firm I do web and graphic design and make really good money - but I do work an insane amount of hours. Sometimes I work up to 75 hours per week. I get free tickets to sporting events, 401K/Retirement, extended holidays and paid vacation. Many, many people want my job and they consider what I do a dream job . Everybody is always asking me about my work because I have the inside tr...

Harrogate: What do software engineers do?
I am strongly interested in a degree in software engineering, depending on what it will allow me to do. A more detailed version of my question would be: Are software engineers focused mainly on writing the code to make the computer perform a specific task, or do they have a say in how users will operate the program? I would prefer to design the user interface and the appearance of the program, with relation to how users will navigate and use the program. I don't really care to write the underlying code for the features, unless I get to design the features as well as code them. Can anyone give me some conclusive answers as to what software engineers actually do? Does it depend ...
