News Articles on Christmas Job in Harrogate
Harrogate: I have a great job with great pay...but my heart's not into it...anyone out there like me?
I've been in the working/professional world for eight years. The day after I graduated from college, I was immediately working 8:30am to 5:30pm everyday. I've worked at a University, an Insurance Company (which I absolutely HATED), and a Sports Marketing Firm.
At the Sports Marketing Firm I do web and graphic design and make really good money - but I do work an insane amount of hours. Sometimes I work up to 75 hours per week. I get free tickets to sporting events, 401K/Retirement, extended holidays and paid vacation. Many, many people want my job and they consider what I do a dream job . Everybody is always asking me about my work because I have the inside tr... 09 Jan 09, 06:01:07
Harrogate: Should I go out of my way to try and get him to visit my son?
Just curious on people's thoughts on this one.
Some background - I'm a single mom to a 14 month old. His dad has seen him once in the past 7 months, right at the beginning of December for a couple hours at my house. Right now, the court order says that I'm in charge of all visitation (because he hasn't put forth any effort to visit him in the past, etc).
Anyways, we talked on the phone right before Christmas Eve and had made plans for me to bring my son over to his house to visit with him and his family and still have me there for comfort (because my son really *doesn't* know him). I told him to call me when he got the details worked out with his family an... 09 Jan 09, 06:01:41
Harrogate: Over paid holiday pay, please advise?
My colleague started working for the company 12 months ago. She was taken on for 15hrs per week, but not given a contract or anything to sign, in August last year she was moved upto 30hrs per week to replace a person leaving, in October she was asked to sign a contract for 15hrs per week, she signed the contract under pressure as she needed the job.
Just before christmas she was informed she would be getting a 30hr contract after the christmas break, she returned to work today to be informed she has been overpaid in her holiday pay, they paid her 30hrs per week holidays and saying cause shes only contracted for 15hrs she owes them the money back. A total of £275.04p
They have said tha... 09 Jan 09, 04:01:39

QUESTION IS QUITE LONG THOUGH SO EVERYONE PLEASE STAY WITH ME.Well I'm unemployed as I was a temp at Argos for Christmas but they didn't keep me on, an the credit crunch has made everything hard and I am now signing on, and was told by the person who works in the job centre that I might be able to claim housing benefit even though I live in a private place with a landlord that I pay to every month, he said that all I would have to do was to have a word with my landlord try to see if I can get the tenancy agreement back, but I have 760 pounds in the bank for myself from my last job do you think it's worth me asking my landlord as it might make things easier for me and I have be... 09 Jan 09, 02:01:11
Harrogate: Would sending 3 resume seem too much?
I saw this part time job offer at the employment centre just a few days before Christmas - I sent my resume via email.
Given that this was a bit last minute an odd time to go job hunting, I called to make contact and find-out if they received my resume - It was the secretary that answered my call and said there were no way she could verify if my resume was received but assumed that probably it was and told me to call back after the Holidays.
So I did call back after the holidays (meanwhile the job offer at the employment centre has been removed) I also had managed to find-out the name of the person in charge of employement so I specifically ask to speak to that person who was (obviousl... 09 Jan 09, 05:01:17

Harrogate: I need some strong push or inpiration. ?
I have always been work oriented and positive about my career and work. But recently, it seems I cannot focus on my work and have been producing insatisfactory results. Few reasons can be explained about it but these are not unavoidable. I need help and inspiration to be able to work in the following environment positively:
1. I work for a US based company in HK and am the only staff. So, no other staff around me to interact. This kind of makes me depressed.
2. I keep wandering on the net to find some outlet of my frustration due to being a lonely staff and nobody to even give a smile at.
3. I work hard and do my work nicely. But it seems my boss or company does not acknowledge my good wo... 09 Jan 09, 03:01:54
Harrogate: 10 p o i n t s for the best honest answer.?
I know it's long but I want some help here:
I have a friend I have known for more than ten years. I still to this day consider her as my best friend. However she views me as a past friend and she doesn't want anything to do with me.
It all started with two people for the sake of the question I say their names are Jessica and Jane.
Jessica, Jane, & I use to hang out however as you know when you start living life after high school stuff happens you have no control over.
I said some things that I should not of about nine months ago. I got frustrated and my anger took over me. I than blamed Jane for being the reason Jessica wasn't wanting anything to do with me. At th... 09 Jan 09, 02:01:20

my little sister is getting married in october. we've been estranged for many years but recently got back in touch. i am desperate to go to her wedding (she invited me) but she lives in australia and i live in china. my problem is this - my job won't give me time off, (as i get chinese and western holidays off already) so the only time i could use is 5 periods of class time which is my sick leave per term (aghhh don't get me started on that!).....so, i could leave thursday night from china, miss my two friday classes, make it to her wedding saturday evening, get a flight back to china sunday night, and miss my three monday classes.
that's if all flights run on time (and... 09 Jan 09, 01:01:39
