Halifax: Insurance options for college student?
I'm going to turn 23 next year and be kicked off of my parent's insurance policy. I will be graduating in May. My school offers a really bad insurance policy, however, I would like a little more coverage. Hopefully, I'll be able to obtain full time employment in June or July (I'm a nursing major so pretty much guaranteed a job). Any suggestions for what to do in the meantime? Thanks!...

Halifax: what to do about this?
I am currently a 25yr old black female graduate student. i substitute teach and take my classes at night. I am at this large urban high school every day. i like to do my job well and go home peacefully. i am friendly to the staff but not too friendly. lately the administrators have been getting a tad too close for my comfort. They are very nice to me and i am nice as well. the one administrator is to the point that he was tapping on my shoulder talking about he was looking for me to find out how my thanksgiving break went. the other day, i was in a math lab and no students showed up. He saw me there alone, came in the room stood very close to me and started staring at my chest. i did not fee...

Halifax: Going back to college after failing out?
Hi. I went through high school studying Japanese, playing first chair violin, taking all honors classes, got a 3.6, and got a 1400/1600 on the SATs. Then I went half way across the country to a university i was barely familiar with (my parents both went there and had always said they wanted a kid to go there, im the youngest and none of my siblings went there so it was sorta up to me). I HATED it. I started off alright, I started to make some friends and joined some groups etc. My best friend died in a car crash back home and I couldn't even make it to the funeral because i was so far away. I got so depressed. I had no friends, didn't do clubs, didn't go to class...

Halifax: What should I get my boyfriend for Christmas? ?
First and foremost, he's a gamer. However, I can't really afford anything over $20 for him. I'm a college student and currently between jobs at that. However, I love him SO MUCH and I know I can get him a great gift under $20. I just don't know what are some good boyfriend gifts. You know what I mean? My friend suggest a tie or a wallet or a watch, but I feel like those are too formal. At the same time, I don't want to get him gag gifts or something sexual. Now I know previous lovers/girlfriends have given him chocolate, a blanket, and games for xmas. I really like those ideas, but obviously I want to be original. I'm just drawing a blank right now, though, an...

Halifax: Calling all Mechanical Engineers. Please Help!?
So, I'm a Junior in High School and I need help, please just straight talk with me. I'm one of the more bright, more mechanically inclined students in my school. Anywho, I would like to go to my community college to knock out my core basics, then transfer to Auburn to major in Mechanical Engineering. NOW, my mom says, You can choose pretty much ANY job with that degree! . But what I can't seem to figure out is, how can all of that math you learn in say... Calc. 4(I think is one of the required classes) can be applied to real world work? Can anybody with this degree specify what their occupation is and what your duties are in your work?...

Halifax: Suggestions on where to go on a honeymoon?
My fiance are getting married in 30 days and we still can't decide on where to go on our honeymoon. Unfortunately, we don't have much money. He is a full time student that is having a hard time getting hours at work. I am graduating 2 weeks before our wedding and don't start my real job until after the wedding. We also don't have much time. He starts school and I start my job 10 days after our wedding, so we want to stay close to home. We are getting married in north Texas...

Halifax: I am an adult.. are my friends out of line? Is this good reasoning to resent me?
My husband and I moved a thousand miles away for his job leaving all friends and family back home. We had gotten engaged ten months before the wedding and everyone knew about it and within a week from the big question I had already asked my two best friends to stand in our wedding. The answers were big, excited of course's!!! Ten months flew by and the plans were to have my maid of honor and my husbands best man stay the week after the wedding because things would be hectic before hand. Not only were we planning a wedding where 100% of the guests and family were flying in from other states, but I was/am a full time student with mid terms in full force, and my f...
