Halifax: Can I sue my cowboy builder? (UK)?
On 28th July 2008, I was injured by a piece of wood with a nail through it in the garden of my property, which currently being renovated. The nail went straight through my foot. The wood was left lying around by the builder who had been removing batons from the roof. I bled profusely but had to transport myself to hospital as my partner was at work. At hospital I was cleaned up and vaccinated appropriately, but was unable to complete any work on my property for several days. I can forward photographs if required.

Halifax: What is ****The Birk Economic Recovery Plan****?
Do you think this would work? Why or Why Not?
****The Birk Economic Recovery Plan****
I'm against the $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG.
Instead, I'm in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in a We Deserve It Dividend.
To make the math simple, let's assume there are 200,000,000 bonafide U.S. Citizens 18+.
Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up..
So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billon that equals
$425,000.00.
My plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a We Deserve It Dividend.
Of course, it would NOT be tax free. So let's assume a tax rate... 05 Dec 08, 02:12:08
Halifax: Should there be restrictions on government officials taking jobs post bailout?
I would imagine after their work for the government was finished on the bailout they would leave their post and likely go to work for those same companies they helped to save. I could see former treasury officials taking banking jobs when they leave the government. Others will move from banking into government and the cycle will continue.
Former congressmen are restricted from lobbying for a period of two years after leaving congress.
Should the bailout officials be restricted from working in the financial markets for two years?... 05 Dec 08, 01:12:08
