Guildford: How long does it take to hire interns?
I had three interviews for a position, (one over the phone and two in person) about two weeks ago. After the last interview, I was told they would let me know either way next week . They even introduced me to the HR manager who would be calling me to let me know the outcome.
The position is a full-time internship, and it's a very well known media company, so I imagine they are quite busy. However, the show that the company puts on goes on hiatus in Decemeber, so they might not be busy, too.
Is it possible that they haven't had a chance to discuss the interviews, or did I just not get the job? I am going crazy waiting because I have been dreaming of working for this...

Leo Donofrio's case will be discussed in the US Supreme Court tomorrow. His case says both McCain and Obama WERE NOT natural born citizens and therefore not qualified to be President. This could be Earth Shaking news but alas, our national media is doing it's same old job of telling us what THEY want us to hear....

My grades are:
English gcse - c
Maths gcse - c
Science gcse - c
Business Studies gcse - c
Ict gcse - pass
Carpentry NVQ - distinction
Construction NVQ - credit
Business Studies as level - c
Ict a level - a
Media studies a level - c/d
What can i do with these grades? Have i got a chance of being in a goodish job? When should i start writing for firms to see about apprenticeships? I finish school in May, I'll be 18....

Guildford: Funny, how media hasn't reported on Edwards (and any cushy appointment from Obama?)?
Edwards was a forerunner for the Dems.. and was the VP/running mate of JFKerry's in 2004.. only to never again appear anywhere but the pages of the National Enquirer (and today's Drudge, it seems, linking to an old 'NY Times' endorsement, mocking a feature article).
Is there a link between Edward's being swept under a rug -- by our mass media, really -- in the run-up before Election Day? (as that would only have hurt the DNC efforts). Is there a concerted effort now? as all things Democrat are highlighed -- and the jobs are being thrown about and talked about on a near daily momentum.. yet NOTHING about the 3rd most powerful vote getter? a man that I'd assum...

Guildford: What is a good biography/autobiography?
I haven't read many, my favourite is Burt Munro's bio called One Good Run, I also liked The Ultimate Experience about Jimi Hendrix, even though it was kind of unusual. I flipped through a Keith Richards' bio which was good, Edmund Hillary's was good to but it was focused only on a few years of his life mostly.
I'm interested mostly in musicians and motorcyclists.
Something that has a good amount on childhood too, and is more about how they got where they are, not so much the well known stuff that happened along the way, like affairs and legal problems and all that. Something where there's lots of unexpected changes, like Keith Richards was the quiet bullied ...
